TTD June 16th

I just signed up for my first ttd on the 16th. Although I am not new to track days .... This will be my first on my ... New to me ... track SV 650. Not sure how it's going to handle first time out. But I'll work the kinks out

The beauty of trackdays is that it's easy to make new friends when everyone is doing something they enjoy.

Are you coming in on the night of the 15th for the trackwalk, BBQ, etc?

I HIGHLY recommend doing the track walk. You get a great understanding of areas you may be having trouble with. You notice reference points you may not have noticed while riding. And you get a great perspective of how much of a banking the bowl actually has.

I just combed the site and didn't see anything.

Basically, instructors will take a group of people (I believe they do it by riding groups) and explain different aspects of the track as you walk it. They point out reference points, things to avoid, and the track "line".

They seem to host it a little while after the last session. Time to change into street clothes and grab some fluids and then they announce what's happening. I agree with 07BladeRider - it's worth it to do the walk. Multiple times. With different instructors if possible. Sometimes they'll even break it down to more of a corner walk for some groups. Graham did a 11-12 corner walk that was great! I just wish I had a better memory... I'll be out there pounding the pavement again for sure.

They just make an announcement near the end of the day and head out around 5:30-5:45. Sometimes they will do the whole track, sometimes they will send a couple different groups to just focus on a specific set of corners. Its definitely worth getting a 3mph perspective...very different than being on the bike.

The track walk is a good time... The first time I did one I was LEADING it for red group.... and I learned a ton!
