Vanson Custom Suit - questions for people familiar with Vanson

I just received suit I ordered a few weeks ago. It looks good but I'm concerned about a couple things and am wondering about other people's experience.

    1. Arms are very loose, legs loose but not bad, some room in torso. I was expecting much tighter fit. Other than the arms, has your experience been that it's not very tight?

    2. I got CE armor. When I tried on yesterday I was shocked at the choice of armor. It covers much less of my elbow and knee than the Alpinestars and Dainese I'm used to. I checked couple other suits today and realized the coverage on the knee is terrible. Was this your experience?

    3. What armor do most people upgrade to? How to you attach it?

Attached is a photo of the Vanson knee v. an Alpinestars one I have.

Overall, I'm not blown away or as happy as I should be with this purchase and I'm trying to figure out my next move. I'm definitely calling Vanson but not sure what I'm asking for. All I can say is it doesn't fit well and the armor is sub-par.

    Thoughts/experience is appreciated.

Ultimately the suit needs to be just tight enough to not shift excessively in a crash or bunch up, while allowing you to move with no restrictions/resistance. If it's too loose in places, or worse too tight so it takes excess effort to move, get it adjusted.

Definitely planning on shipping back. I got measured at factory so I expected way more custom fit.

The armor is huge concern for me. I'm used to having it wrapped all around my knee and elbows and really feeling protected. The armor in it doesn't give me confidence.

When comparing armor between suits, be sure to include the amount and thickness of the leather in the area as well. In the past Vansons were built with some seriously thick leather, making them tank like. That acts as some armor by itself.

Just compared with Alpinestars pants. About the same.
I think everyone who rides motorcycles would prefer CE armor over leather between them and asphalt.
I have friend who sews who's going to see about attaching Velcro to aftermarket armor for me. I'll post up results.

I know it might not be an option, but if I were you, I would go down to the factory. My suit was also loose initially, but I went down (from Maine) and they were able to see where they needed to take it in. It came back fitting really well. And I spoke with them about the armor I wanted place in so you might be able to upgrade or change.

Just my 2 cents. I have had mine for about 9 years and besides me not conditioning the leather properly, it was been great. Stick with it and have them make it right.

I appreciate the words of encouragement. I'm going to call today probably. I'm in New Orleans so going there isn't option at this point. Frustrating because I went out of my way to get measured at factory assuming it would be perfect.

I'm sure they'll take care of it.
