Me too. First one.
And I have a question for you guys, not something I wanted to start a new topic for.
What kind of tape do you use for the lights? Talking to someone, they said duct left a ton of glue that stuck and was hard to get off. Also, how highly do you recommend pulling the fuse for your lights? I'm riding up and back, and want to keep things as simple as possible, and supposedly getting at my fuse box isn't the easiest thing either.

I use duct tape all the time. Sure, it can leave a little bit of residue, but nothing a bit of work won't get off.
The trick is to pull the plugs on your headlight and taillight so the heat doesn't cook the tape on and to take the tape off as soon as you're done with your last session. My 99 VFR was simple to pull the lighting plugs for the taillight and pull the fuse for the headlight.
Some people use gaffer's tape, which is a little less sticky, from what I hear. We DO NOT allow the blue painter's tape (as of this year). It doesn't hold strongly enough if glass breaks.
Thanks Ken!

What ken said... As I take the duct tape off I ball it up w/ the sticky stuff on the outside.... i then use the ball to take off any sticky residu... works like a charm
I also used to ride up to the track so i'd just unplug my headlights & remove my tail light bulbs. I probably got it down to under 15 minutes for prep time from street to track trim. Easy as pie now. Just review the requirments, think of what you wanna do & make a checklist.
Lemme know if you want me to list out the stuff i did.

Like i said, when i get to the track, usually i'm in "street trim"... only takes me about 15 minutes to do this stuff now.
Remove mirrors & ziptie upper to the fairing stay
Tape or remove turn signals (i have flush mounts up front & integrated rears so i just tape over em)
Tape headlights
Unplug headlights
Tape tail lights
Remove tail light bulbs (or pull fuse)
Remove license plate (I always forget that one)
Check tire pressures
Check oil filter (for tony's it's now requried to besafety wired w/ a hose clamp)
Check gas
Check miscelaneous nuts & bolts
think that's about it.

I like that part... Last October I got hit right in the faceshield by a rather substantial size flying bolt in turn 9.Originally posted by OreoGaborio

I believe Doc was asking about NESR trackdays. While we fully endorse Tonystrackdays, they are NOT NESR trackdays.
The next NESR trackday is at tamworth if they ever finish the damn place.
derek
Yep, but when is the next NESR trackday at Loudon?

Heh, ask NHIS. I have tried repeatedly to get a trackday or 2 at Loudon for an NESR-only event, but I never get a reply from the track.
It's all a case of who-you-know I'm afraid.
Sign up for a tonystrackday, they are full of NESR folks.

Since it was brought up here...
The deadline for the EARLY PAYMENT DISCOUNT for the May 25th date ends today. (for TonysTrackDays.com)
