But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.
VIR would be FUN!! How many seriously interested?? 1 here!

I'd be interested, as well.
sweetness, me 9
Just to keep you all informed.
I have contacted VIR and they are looking into the historical weather charts to see if a February Trackday is viable (more from a rain standpoint than a cold standpoint I believe).
The format would be like this:
1 day of track time on the North Course (the one the AMA uses).
3 or 4 professional instructors
3 groups of no more than 25 people
2 night hotel accommodation
Package price to be determined.
I am trying to book it for a Friday so we only have to take Thursday and Friday off work, travel back Saturday.
It is at least 12 hours drive to get there. Be aware of this.
If the price is right, I may look into booking 2 days (thursday and friday or friday and saturday)
Thanks to highsider for suggesting this and please feel free to post your comments/suggestions.

I would do it, but we would get at most 10 signups. We have no chance of getting Laguna Seca in 2005, sold out already (especially for those two weeks, each side of the MotoGP. For 2006, the price would be close to $500 per person as it is now a GP track.Originally posted by bbhzx12

Willow Springs in July??? Are you nuts? I have been there in July and 110 degrees in the shade is not my idea of fun. Bottonwillow, that's another story.
Best thing you can do if you want to ride those tracks is to hook up with a cornering school that is running there, like code or something.
I would be up for a group purchase at the Freddie Spencer race school in Vegas though. It's a couple of grand for the course though and it's 3 or 4 days long.

Ok, I'll throw this out there;
Who would be interested in a 2-day event at VIR? Show of hands. It would cost more, but less than double the single day.
derek
Winters are generally a little slow for me as far as work goes so i could be up for a 2 day event (depending on cost), preferably Friday and Saturday, going to the MotoGP race next year so i gotta watch my missed days from work.
I can also carry 4 bikes and bring 4 people with the set-up i have, possibly many more bikes if someone has a bigger trailer?
That probably isn't a good track for a motard? Keep in mind it tops out at about 110mph![]()
