    Wide width "racing" boots?

I have 12EE feet. The only two riding boots I found available in wide were the Sidi Mega Way and the Daytona RoadStar GTX.

Have the GTX now and I've been quite happy with them. They have CE-approved armor and have held up well. But after four seasons the sole is wearing out.

Anyone with EE width feet wearing something that fits and has good protection? Some of the racing-oriented and off-road boots seem to offer a lot more protection than what I have.

The Cruiserworks boots are very high quality and fit my 13-5E feet, but the armor is rudimentary. I'd like real ankle protection if I could find it. No fit for me with Daytona, Sidi, Aerostich, and at least a half dozen others I've tried.

    TCX boots fit wide feet.

I have 9-1/2 EEE and they fit me well.

Thanks, do you now if any area dealers carry them?

Thank you, that looks like it might work for me.

Dayton also emailed back that their boots can be resoled. I'm going to contact Helimot.

    Helimot is a great company!

I and Do not know who stocks TCX locally, I had to special order mine.

If you go to http://helmethouse.com/ , you might ne able to find a local stocking dealer.

    Re: Wide width "racing" boots?

I have the Roadstars as well and I love them as a touring boot, but I don't feel they have enough lateral ankle support for the track. (based on the track crashes I've had)

Having them re-soled is fantastic (and good to know), but I'd keep looking if I were you. I think alpinestars also has wide withs available.

I'd recommend calling each of the boot companies...or at least their American distributors...and they should be able to tell you what they think will fit and help you find dealers to try them out.

No kidding. I couldn't even get my foot all the in to a Mega Wide Sidi. When they say wide, they mean wide for their own brand.

But I think you are more like EEEE?

They claim the boot is built on an EE last. I've found that varies: a New Balance 12EE fits me fine, while a Danner 12EE is a bit tight. The Daytonas are even narrower, but they were the best I could find.

Of course, the Sidis are available in size 46 (about 11.5) and 47 (about 12.5) and the size 46 is on "extended back order."

The Sidi Vertigo Mega differs in three ways from the satandard boot, I've learned. First, it's wider. Second, it has a goretex liner. Third, it uses cowhide, not Lorica. So that's why it's an additional $95.
