    Wide race boots anyone???

I'm in the market for new boots. I currently have Cortech Latigo boots. They really cheap ($150) but the problem with them is that they're considered aggressive street, or casual track day boots. They have minimal protection and is probably not the best boot for racing because of the lack of protection. I will say that they are absolutely really comfortable! On the downside, I require a wider toe-box boot. Most of the race boots tend to be narrow. I've been told that TCX are wide so I ordered them and had to return them because they are wider in the middle part of my foot but is quite narrow in the toe-box and was squishing my pinky toe. I had the chance to talk to the Cortech boot rep while I was at Bettencourt's and he said the Latigo is about as wide as they're gonna get. Anyone know any different or any better? I'm looking for a boot wide in the toe-box specific!

I normally wear a wide shoe and can get away with my Sidi Vertigo boots. Not something I can walk around in all day but they are fine while riding.
As you are finding out it is best to go and try a bunch of different stuff. Seacoast or Motomarket are good places to start.

I heard Alpinestars run wide. Sidis are narrow. Luckily for me I must have a narrow foot because I swear to god I could walk 4 miles in my Vertigos and not have a single foot issue/pain. They fit me like a pair of slippers.

I have the TCX Race-S boots. They are pretty narrow in the toe, as you found out. I found the Sidi's just a touch wider and bigger throughout.

Interested to hear that you feel the Latigos provide 'minimal' protection. I thought they were pretty good there. Wanted to try a set on, but nobody seems to sell them locally.

A*'s supertech. Wide, big calf area, feel like a slipper....much wider than the Sidi Vortice's I tried on. My back up/rain boot are some old Oxtar's. They're pretty wide, but not even close on the protection front.

I think the Cortech Latigos a great track day boot, but it is much softer than a full on, race boot. It has all the protection where you want it, it just a soft boot which is why its not a race boot. It is classified as an aggressive street / casual track day boot.
