But when we ride very fast motorcycles, we ride with immaculate sanity. We might abuse a substance here and there, but only when it's right. The final measure of any rider's skill is the inverse ratio of his preferred Traveling Speed to the number of bad scars on his body. It is that simple: If you ride fast and crash, you are a bad rider. If you go slow and crash, you are a bad rider. And if you are a bad rider, you should not ride motorcycles.

    t',

Suzuki re-uses parts. My Katana shares many parts with the 1k, the engine NOT being one of them.

The 02+ 1k's mirrors may fit your SV as well.

    Thanks Mark!
I must say that machine is purdy. I like the way the truss design is mirrored in it's radiator.

yes, even the SV650 shares some parts with the Katana, wheels, fork springs etc. I think almost all Suzuki sportbikes use the same shifter & rear brake pedal.

What is surprising is how many jap bikes have standard fasteners & controls, The KLR650 handguards I put on my SV, bolted on almost as it they were made for the SV

I'd still rather have a DL1000 even if the SV1000 becomes available in the US. I think the SV1000 defeats the reason the SV650 is such a hoot to ride, so what its got 50% more horsepower, it also weights 40-45 lbs more. I think they oughta bring the SV400 to the US also

T', I think your pics are photoshopped, most are just red x's now.
    Notice the wind screen area.

I think Randy said it: will they bring it to the US market?

It sounds like the SV400 isn't particularly great as a 400, it's supposed to just be a de-stroked 650 minus one of the front disk brakes.

So it would be heavier than a bike designed to be a 400, etc..

As for the SV1000, it seems like they're just trying to throw a bone at all the SV650 fans, that bike sure seems like it would be called the next-gen TL1000S if the SV650 wasn't popular.

Just looks like a revamped TL-S to me. Is it just coincidence then that the first genre TL-S were technically named the TL1000SV? Hmmmm....
