05 636 or 09 zx6r?

So its getting to be that new bike search time I basically have it down between a second Gen 636 or an 09 zx6r.
I had been really going for an 07 but took one of my buddies for a ride and it just felt really weak down low compared to my 95. I unfortunately haven't had a chance to try either of the two bikes I'm looking at though so if anyone here has an 05 or 06 or an 09 they were willing to let me tale up and down the street that would be awesome. I know itsaot to ask but honestly I don't even need to hit a turn I know they ate going to both handle worlds better than mine it realty just comes down to the engine ergonomics and flickyness lol. If any one has any insight that would be appreciated to.

09 zx6r is awesome . . . . but i'm biased. No i've actually ridden both and find the 09 to be a lot more comfortable. plus the 09 comes with big piston front forks and awesome stock brakes. i've got 23k on mine with no issues aside from a rectifier recall.

Lol yes yes I am. And dan you've ridden an 05? How was the low end compared to the 09? I personally agree with you the 09s are more comfy for me. But I would have no issue rocking a 636 lol.

09 hands down its a better bike. I haven't ridden any between 86 and 09 though. The 09 has a friggin monster motor for a 600 and handled nicely.

I haven't ridden the 09s so I can't say without bias, but I LOVE my 636. I think it has the whole package, looks and power.

i don't like the '05/06 honestly, doesn't feel as smooth and it feels like the power output is lacking. I love the 1st gen styling the most, granted i AM bias, but IMO this was one of the best looking designs except for the exhaust. Haven't yet had the chance to ride anything newer than '06 so I couldn't say the '09 is any better or worse.

Actually when i was looking to buy my bike i was in love with the 05-06 636 cause they are gorgeous but a buddy on mine let me test ride his and i just wasnt happy with it. I'm a mechanic and my back is already unhappy with me at the age on 23 after riding the 06 for about 10 minutes it was killing me so i tried and 09 and i have had no issues so that was the deciding factor. as for power the 06 and 09 are around the same which is great considering the older one has more cc's. But my 09 has plenty of midrange i honestly rarely go over 10k rpm street riding cause i dont have to.

Just get the 2013 ZX6r 636 that is coming out

If money is an issue, get the 04-05 model and change what ever you need to if you are not comfortable.

09 baby! But I would be somewhat biased. I have ridden an 05 636 but not enough seat time to give u a comparison. 09 is very flickable, very comfortable, awesome stock brakes, and very sexy.
