'07 gsxr - Anyone know if the ECU has constant power?

Hey guys, I'm looking to put a kill switch/ignition switch in on my track bike. It'd be easiest, obviously, to just put a switch inline in the battery's ground, but i'm unfamiliar with these bikes. Anyone know if the computers have constant power--such that a switch in the ground would be an issue?

    Thanks in advance!

GSX-R600? Looking at the wiring diagram, it looks like the ECM does in fact have a constant power supply through the Signal fuse. Probably has something to do with the immobilizer system, so it can read the chip in the key before the ignition is turned on.

    Wirelessly posted (Doc sucks)

Just wire your ignition to the kill switch. Done

Thanks for the info. It's appreciated.

I guess I was hoping that I could get some clarification as to whether there would be any significant negative consequences to putting the switch in the ground circuit (and thus cutting completely cutting power to the ECU). The wiring isn't any more challenging at the ignition, but getting to the wires FOR the ignition (and knowing which is which) requires quite a bit more.

That make any sense? Thanks for the reply, I do appreciate it.

There is a few write ups on the WERA board and as long as the ECU see's the proper resistance it will be OK...

Much appreciated. I ended up going this route. It's not as though it's a huge deal--the bike is a new-to-me track bike for a novice rider. More than anything I was looking for the, "oh Lord, don't do THAT!" type response.

Here's hoping I can keep it upright on Tuesday!
