    '08 Yamaha WR250X Supermoto

If anyone is looking for one of these I know a dealer who has a June allocation coming in. Street legal out of the box. Ride it to NHMS, track it, then ride it home.
MSRP $5999. Sale price $5399. Add in $150 for freight and $65 for prep. No doc fee.

    PM for more info.

Looks cool. I wish it were a 450, though.

Oh, it's coming. I read it on the Internet. Late '09 release.

If you have the will & the resource$, a plated WR450F is not at all impossible. Figure at least an extra $500 in parts to make one compliant. My Husqvarna cost me $7300 for a dirtbike that was street-legal. I was impatient and lazy. I figured I'd hold off on a $1200-1400 SM wheelset for now.

I've been considering the WR250X as well. From what I've read thus far, it feels almost as fast as the DRZ 400SM (and it's apparently very close HP wise). It's also a bit lighter, has FI, and a much more modern design.

The only thing that's really keeping me from getting it is the price. $6k seems like a lot for a 250cc anything. We'll see...

All I want is a good city motard that can take the occasional relatively long highway flogging and doesnt require INTENSE maintenence.
    Someone make it happen.

Not enough balls to be fun for me. That 250 is going to be WAY underpowered. The DR-Z400S is underpowered for street duty IMO. The 250 must be a slob.

I'd say the WR250X is it. The first valve check/adjust is at 24,000 miles (or a bit higher, I can't remember). More than enough power to get into trouble in the city, and I spoke to a guy who weighs 200+ that rides one and says it goes pretty damn good on the highway, even with his weight.

What is underpowered? That it won't do 150mph?

It will most likely wheelie in the first 2 gears... For an around town commuter I think it is perfect.
