    09 R1

I've been on the fence about the looks of the new R1's. I like the front side, but the tail is a coat-hanger abortion. Regardless, I've been reading about the cross plane crank and the other engine mods they've done, which sounds like Yamaha has really done their homework. I listened to a couple audio recordings of the sound of the new R1's, which was cool. But a few days ago, one pulled out in front of me as I was leaving the airport and went tearing up the street. HOOOLLLYYYYY SCHNIKES that thing sounds f*cking awesome! It's like the perfect mix of the rhythm of a V-twin with the scream of an I4. FUGGIN AWESOME!

... on a side note. I had both wheels off the ground today in a nose high attitude coming up over one hell of a knoll on my way home from the airport. I may have been speeding... but no one was around to hear the tree fall in the woods, so did it make it a sound?

Like I say... eyewitness testimonies and even written confessions get thrown out in court all the time... Unless there's video or photographic evidence, it never happened

Even with stock pipes, the R1 has an amazing sound
I honestly hate the looks of the tail with the stock pipes on it, but clean that up with a tail tidy and a set of Leo cans and look out

The big question is, when are you getting one? If you're ever in the area and want to try one out, let me know

Don't you threaten me with a good time! I might just have to take another week of leave and tell the Major my grandmother died...

I appreciate the offer. Though, I don't think I'll be getting rid of the '08 R1 anytime soon.
