    1978 Suzuki GS750

My friend was without a bike after he crashed his. We didn't have a lot of money so I bought and old bike and fixed it up for him. I was able to sell it to him for $1,200 (the cost of the parts). He is a new rider so this is just something for him to get some miles on and get used to street riding. Anyone ever have one of theses? Are they good bikes?

I've got the two cylinder 'modern' version of that bike, the GS500E. They are damn near bullet proof.

It went for it's first voyage today. About 60 miles, so far so good!

like most 70s air cooled bikes they are pretty bullet proof with regular maint.

watch for bad cam chain tensioners...it's an issue with many bikes of the era...but it's just as likely to last forever.

    EDIT: nice score BTW!!

excellent choice, have had and still have a few of them in the herd, pretty much so bullet proof motors except for cam chain tensioner, motor has roller bearings on crankshaft like a 2 stroke, no inserts to spin , bikes are my favorite, and alot of fun to ride.Big handling up grade is to install a later model front end, I put a sv 650 front end on one of mine 41mm compared to stock 35mm fork tubes plus better braking

    Re: 1978 Suzuki GS750

My brother had one and it was a non-issue.

And a close friend of mine rode one of these out to the west coast. Rode there, and rode it back here to Boston.

    No problems at all.
