did I miss something...
Degsy said he bought 2001 Rc51 from post thread highlighted
....not the 2002 you wanted, different exhaust, etc???
all hope is not lost
I was in contact with the owner of the 01 with the Satos. Basically if Degsy didn't pick it up by last Friday, I woulda taken it. But he did, haha
Ya I though $4000 for the 2002 stock w/ a bad tail fairing was high also, not to mention the 10 hour round trip to PA and needing to rent a truck and cost of gas

20,000 miles on a Honda sportbike motor is barely scratching the surface.

No. 10k on a bike is equal too 100k on a car? I dont mean to insult you but, that is totally not right at all...
Theres a guy on the RC51 board that has 100k on his bike. Still going strong. That motor is pretty much bulletproof.
The 10k mileage stigma that seems to be prevalent is a local thing. In Cali or FL. Where they ride year 'round, 10k is considered a low mile bike.
RC51 and most Honda motors could easily go 100k miles. My biggest concern about the low mileage bikes is that they were not taken care of by the owner, were raced, stunted, etc...I think the type of bike you get will protect you some from poor maintenance. Bikes like a VFR, VTR, FJR, BMW, most Ducati's etc.... are often owned by people who really take care of their bikes. Of course, I am generalizing and there will always be exceptions to the rules.

"Gorgeous RC51 Model year 2000 for sale. Upgraded details abound. Fully adjustable suspension front and rear including Penske with remote res and Triaxion fronts. Moriwake exhausts sounds great and not too loud. Power commander smooths out the throttle response, carbon fiber details, loving cared for and adult owned never abused. 15K miles, mechanical and cosmetic condition excellent. Needs nothing at all. Doesn't get any better than this one."
O ya, I should probably mention that I bought a '02 RC. Picking it up tomorrow night. Thanks to RVTjonny for checking it out with me!
Good to hear, always nice to have a second set of eyes. One of these days I'll buy a RC51, of course I have been saying that for about 6yrs now.....
