Everything seems fine, but I don't know for sure. I think Scottie and Q downloaded/tweaked a custom map. I know they built a custom exhaust. I just want to get rid of the unknown. I also have a check engine light that comes and goes that would be nice to have cleared up.
Whoa whoa whoaaa, just because Q left me a box of parts (I don't think you actually grabbed them all last time?) how did I get roped into this thing? I've ridden against it many times, but dang sure haven't wrenched on it or tuned it. Q may have borrowed a cable / software from me at some point as I used to have a 675 of my own and there's another that lives here...

You're completely right! I just went through my PMs and they were with Q, not with you. Regardless who built it, I'm not complaining, just want to keep it maintained.

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

I've thrown a slew of odds and ends at this recently. One thing I want to clear up before I get this on a dyno is the exhaust.

    Daytona 675 MJS Race Exhaust Header 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012

I've heard good things. Price is right. Do I want the O2 bung or should/can I get it tuned outta there?

Also, if I want to add a quick-shifter with stock ECU and GP shift woodcrafts can I do that easily at a later date, or is that something else I should get on there before I get i tuned.

Rob did the tune way back when the bike had a PC3, I translated it to TuneECU when the PC3 died. The cable should be with the bike, but who knows.

if you replace the exhaust. remember to send the old one my way, as I had mentioned, it holds a certain sentimental value.

    Cheers

I don't think I let Scott touch this one. It's a good thing or a bad thing, depends on the days.

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

I ended up getting in touch with John at Dyno Solutions. He said order the pipe with the O2 bung as it won't hurt to just not use it.

I was considering picking up a stock header on ebay for $80 bucks and then bringing it to a local exhaust shop to remove the exup valve, but honestly, my time is more valuable to me. End of the day it ran me almost $400 bucks with shipping, which I'm not so thrilled about, but its over and done with. John said to bring the bike down in the spring when the weather is warmer.

    Also...I may have purchased a Z1000.

Details on the Z1000? I rode one a few years back and it was a lot of fun.

This dyno tuning doesn't work well for ice. In case anyone wasn't sure.

Its my friends. Its like a 2003 or something. Its been sitting under my dad's deck for over a year. We took it out like a year and a half ago on the fourth of July. It's red and has done a couple of track days. It wheelies, but the balance point is really far back.

That's the generation I rode. Really fun, although the one I rode had a good amount of work done to it.

They're surprisingly heavy. I'm not the biggest fan of the bike, and I'm not sure I'll ever ride it on the street, but N+1.

I'll probably use it to introduce some friends to riding and hopefully to track days.

The supercharger kit probably costs more than a nice used Z1000!

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

Can anyone identify this shock? Listed as for a 2012 Daytona 675. Looks to be a triple clicker and in good shape. Not sure if the set-up of the reservoir is standard for a 2012 Daytona 675, but my research says that the 2012 shocks are the same as the 06. Any idea of age?

That's definitely a triple. Nice shock. I'll try to see if that reservoir placement is right for the 675 tomorrow. Mine has a remote res

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

It's $700. He says it's off a fresh rebuild and for a 160 pound rider, but one can never be too sure. I thought it would be easier to just search for a Daytona 675 rear shock image to conform fitment, but not that easy. If the resovoir goes on the left side, looks like it will fit no problem. Anyone know if it swivels?

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

If its a fresh rebuild, he should have a service receipt that indicates the work done and likely the spring weight. Hell, even Peter Kates does that!

    Re: 2006 Daytona Track-day Build

It's worth 700 even without a refresh. It does look like it will fit with the res on the left. The top can go either way. I'd pull the trigger.

Kate's has the piggy back triple clicker for 1400. Got some more info, looks like it was service by Jim Cambora of Raceworx Traxxion...but no receipt.
