    Thumbs up 2008 CBR1000rr's 7999$ OTD

Naults Windham is doing 2008 RR's (all colors in stock as of today anways) for 7999$ out the door.

Thats the cheapest I've found in our local area for a low-haggle otd sub 8k price. Honda finance is also offering some promo financing on it now that puts a new 1000rr at <150$ a month with 0$ down.

Just thought I'd share as I was up there today picking up some stuff and couldn't help but notice that Silver CBR staring at me, I wanted to take it home so damn bad.

Then again the same bike is 6900$ OTD at Abernathy's in TN...but, thats TN...a mere 19hour drive.

budget the extra 1099 towards a plane ticket, taxi ride, gas money, and a filter + couple quarts of fresh oil... hit the dragon on the way back.

Went to get an oil filter at North Reading Motorsports and noticed they have the same deal.

I bet that they probably have an overstock on the 09's as well, but they won't let those go just yet for false hopes and upsetting those who purchased recently...

I don't mind admin, setup, or destination fees as long as they are upfront and honest about what they are. Naults seems to consistently advertise 5-800 below their actual price.

Yeah if you're the kind that likes to pay asking price, sure - waste 40 hours driving to Tn. and back

I'll take my 07, thank you. It doesn't look like a hawk's beak in the front.

However, $3500 off the original sticker is phenomenal.

I almost bought one because the price was so great, but after reading the oil burning threads on http://www.1000rr.net/forums/ I decided against it.

Also 2007s in Metuchen, NJ for $6900.

    http://www.sporthonda.net/new_vehicl...80&pov=1249561

It does say: "Price, if shown, does not include government fees, taxes, dealer vehicle freight/preparation, dealer document preparation charges or any finance charges (if applicable)."

I should add every other dealership I attempted to negotiate with said FU. They wanted to stand by their fee'd up ~8500$ bikes.
I've heard good and bad about Naults Windham so wasn't sure what to expect - but all in all they did a really good job, I expected more b.s and never got it. When that new VFR comes out they will probably be the first place I call as long as they don't try to tell me I have to pay a build and prep fee

    Re: 2008 CBR1000rr's 7999$ OTD

I had North Reading Kawasaki/Honda put my Strebble horns on my C-14 a couple of weeks back when I got settled in up here and they had a LOT of RRs lined up for 8K. That place has a lotta bikes stuffed into a fairly small showroom, but they aren't moving many as of then, if any. I was talkin to the old guy there, the owner, I suppose, he says it was a rotten year for em. If I'da waited to buy the C-14 up here, he'd have gotten me a new 09 C-14 with ABS in red for the same $11,700 out the door Manassas Va. gave me my black one for, because he has 4 of em, but not the black. It seems the dealers themselves decide what to order and stock, and they're the ones stuck with em, not Honda, or so this guy says. It's a golden age, I tell ya. I ain't seen cutthroat pricing like this since the mid-eighties. Of course, the bikes are just outta this world, too. Helluva bang for the buck. If my shoulders and wrists weren't so fucked, I'd grab one of the RRs just to have around as a plaything to ride a day a week just to remember what fast is. Gorgeous bike. Tempting to pick one up, not gas it and put it on display in the poolroom like Art Deco.

After the 1980's I'da bet a million bucks I'd never see the Japs allow a glut like this to develop, but here were are. Only problem this time is, few peeps have the cash laying around to take advantage of the prices, and worse, he says there are fewer avenues of credit for motorcycles these days, especially for those with less than stellar credit ratings.

Sad. Aren't we glad the Dimmokratz got in? They fixed EVERYTHING, but good.

The oil burning has been discussed over and over at 1000rr.net. People there came to a conclusion that there were only some isolated cases.

I am on my 2nd 08 1k and I have to tell you that I would substitute it for nothing less than another 08 1k.

Despite the R1's new engine the CBR1000rr was the bike of the year in 2009.

As for looks, you can't really appreciate it unless you see first hand. I still believe the CBR's front section looks better than the GSXR's pointy nose, or the R1s retro headlights. Besides the SBK stile tail section is awesome.

The engine has a powerfull midrange and at 160 ponies for a 350 pounds bike it is already a very powerfull machine in terms of horsepower per pound. For about $100 you can purchase at device that will give you back another 7 ponies to the top end taken away by the US EPA regulations.

As for roadracing....not sure on that one...but it seems that every company on earth is now onto this budget cutting business. Kawy as you know no longer races MotoGP for example.

I understand that. Not at Loundon anyway. Still the best japanese litter bike outthere. As light as a 600cc the CBR is the best machine in its class. Besides, I love those power wheelies going out of turns

160HP, 350lb bike?! Holy feck... I know I have not been keeping up on modern sportbikes but jesus! I'm fairly sure my R6 was heavier than that... what the hell do 600's weigh now?
