    2008 Riding Season Goals

I got this idea from another forum I'm on. I'm sure some people will come in and make lots of jokes... which is fine... but it is interesting and helpful to hear what other riders want to work on for their season. Here are some of my goals.

    Track:

-Do at least 4 track days, $$ permitting.
-One of those at the new NJ motorsports park (I've only ever been to NH)
    -Be smoother / more relaxed.
    -Brake harder/later., Power harder post-apex.
-Turn-in quicker (reach traction limits / max lean faster).
    -Work on right-handers.
    -Don't crash.

    Street:

    -Ride more.
-Find more people in the area I enjoy riding with.
    -Find more twisties.

    General:

-Complete garage/workshop (see my other thread)
    -Continue amassing tool collection.
    -Complete desired winter maintenance/upgrades.

sb.net Racer's Corner by any chance? (doubt it)

Street - I'd like to do a little touring & take a short trip somewhere on the bike. Maybe a three day weekend kinda thing.
I also wanna get Jenni out on her bike more & get her more confident on two wheels.

Track Days - Continue my progression as an instructor & help people w/ their riding.

Race - Bump to Expert & still be somewhat competative. Consistant 1:23's.

    street:
Fix up my friends trailer to be more motorcycle friendly.

Find a few seconds at the track to get closer to AM times, then bump to AM.
Do more street riding (Itd be hard to do less than I did this year)
Get the 636 up at a trackday to have some fun.
Bring the 636 to a track thats a bit more fast and less technical than Loudon to really open it up.

    GET TO THE TRACK!

I bought 1 track day last year but never got to the track to put on some LAPS

Learn to be a better rider in general, only 3 seasons under my belt

Put more time in the saddle, only 5kish this year while it was 13k last year

I know it sounds stupid and TONS of people on here will think differently BUT I want to learn how to at least power up a wheeeeeeelie before I bitch out and let off the throttle

Get all the gear I need (got suit, just need back/chest protector)
Secure at least 4 of TTD'S
Meet as many of you guys I can.
Just get smoother and more confident at higher speeds in the corners.

    2008 Riding Season Goals

Hmmm... I'm riding without a goal these days.

    Actually, that's not entirely true.

Dirt: Keep working on fundamentals, top huge knarley whoop sections WOT, increase corner entry speeds, lean angles, and acceleration mid corner, consistently clear all doubles, etc. at Crowhill (there's just 1 or two I miss most of the time)

Track: Find a bike, learn to contain my tendency to ride aggressively at trackdays.

Street: find a bike, ride to work.

    +1

I've been able to get 7500 miles (conti Road Atacks) on a set of street tires for my VeeStrom, but I'd like to find something that lasts 10,000

and dual sport tires that last over 5,000

Alaska is my other goal, but that's more likely a 2009 or 2010 trip
