Ya I always choose a street bike because of the HP numbers.

The question posed was about the difference between the two bikes, so my post addressed that. If you are talking about a better street bike, I would argue that my previous FZ6 was a better 600 in many ways: center stand, more comfortable, larger tank for larger range, easier for two up, sit higher and can see over traffic better, etc...In any case, off topic. The 2007+ CBR600RR is a terrific bike and either year you can't go wrong. I am considering one myself, but not sure I want to give up my current stable

Signed a deal on a 2011 CBR600RR for $9671 yesterday. Awaiting LoJack and prep work to be completed I should be able to pick it up Monday...

I was going to say get the 2011 with ABS and forget the aftermarket exhaust which is just going to get you noticed/ticketed

No I did not end up getting the ABS, the price was high enough as it was. Granted I got it for under 10k but I added a ton of warranties, theft protection, LoJack, etc and it went from under 10k to over 14k. Still have a 7k loan after putting 7900 down.

    Re: 2008 vs 2011 CBR 600RR

    Base Price: 9096.00
    Freight: 275.00
    Delivery/Prep: 396.00
    Administration: 179.00
    LoJack: 825

    Subtotal: 10,771.00

    LoJack Sales Tax: 51.56
    Vehicle Tax: 568.50
    Document/Acq Fee: 299.00
    Plates Fee: 95.00
    Inspection: 15.00
    Tire/Wheel Warranty: $449.00
    48 month service agreement: 898.00
    Pre-Paid Maintenance: 778.00
    Micro Dot Theft: $598.00

    Total Price: 14,523.06

I paid a little extra for the Micro Dot even though it may seem redundant but it's not. If my bike is stolen again I get 5,000 from that company, up to 5,000 from LoJack and the insurance check so I will be able to get a damn nice ride if anyone touches this and it is not recovered.

delivery/prep, you shoulda talked them outta that. no way I'd pay that, especially not that kind of money for them to slap on a windscreen and check the oil.

administration? really you paid that. that's such a bs charge.

are you worried about denting your wheels or something. what are the chances you dent both so you can make this worth it. hell you can buy both of them for less than that on ebay/craiglist/forum. and tires, does that include normal wear?

what is this service agreement? and pre-paid maintenance? what do you plan on doing to this thing that its gonna need almost $1700 worth of service/maintenance?

something tells me this salesman/gm was very good.

You're not the only one to ask me these questions.
The wheel coverage is incase I pick-up nails or run over glass and damage the tire or wheel. Both are covered. Now mind you I have to pay for the replacement and they reimburse me but it's worth it if I pick up a nail once and damage the rim, I'm sure that will happen from time to time.

The 48 month warranty is on top of Hondas 1 year factory warranty. Anything goes wrong with the bike that is not a wearable part the dealership comes to my home picks the bike up, repairs it and returns it to my home. I felt this was worth it's weight in gold because I don't want to be going out and replacing parts on the bike when something decides to fail. This is a 5 year warranty.

The pre-paid maintenance is for the much needed services such as 600 mile break in, and higher mileage services. I bought this so that I would not have to worry about coming up with the money and taking a chance that I don't have it and would have to park the bike until I did. I also paid in advance because with the economy the way it is everything seems to be rising in price, I am locked in with this price so even if the service fee's, hourly rate etc increase it does not for me.

When it comes to all of the damn administration fee's I wish I could have gotten out of there without them. The only reason they matched the price on the bike was because I called a dealer in Adams, MA (Ronnie's Cycles) and that's the price I could have gotten the bike from them for. However what they failed to tell me when I bought the theft warranty on my bike that was stolen was the fact that the 3,000 provided by that secondary company was only to be used at Cycles128. This basically locked me to going to Cycles128 for the new bike otherwise I would have lost 3,000 on the purchase. Being that they knew I was locked in like that they felt they could hit me with all the fee's I guess to make sure they actually got a decent price for the bike.

I am still new to buying bikes and still learning every day, did I make some mistakes by paying these ridiculous fee's, so may think so. Personally I am happy with the bike and will be even happier when I pick it up Monday or Tuesday.

Cycles128 also worked with me, if you notice the base price they gave me was 9096, the agreed price was 9671 so they broke out their fee's from that making it so I paid less tax on the bike. They also transferred what I paid on the warranties for the stolen bike over to the new bike.

All in all I feel good about this purchase. I might have paid a bit more than someone else could have but for me it is the ease of mind knowing the bike is taken care of for the next 5 years.

Did i mention that the warranties are transferable and only increase the value of the bike?

I thought people bought Honda's (and most other Japanese bikes) so they wouldn't need to even think about a warranty?

    You got robbed.

    What dealer?

There is a freight charge (billshit charge anyway) and a delivery charge. Same thing.

There are all kinds of fees on there that don't belong. Get rid of all that extra warranty and wheel tire warranty crap. That's all dealer gravy.

Deal with the RMV yourself and save about $400 in bullshit dealer fees.

    Seriously, what dealer is this?

That is tw worst deal I have ever seen on a 600. You are paying twice what you should. That dealer is clearing $7k Profit on that sale.

Just called the dealer, Ronnies has Hondas warranty at $699 they are going to reduce theirs. I hate how people try to hide profit through things like this. You know they are not paying that much for the warranty they are pocketing the rest to offset the lower price they gave me on the bike, bastards lol

The list of rip offs in your deal.

    Document fee
    Bike prep and setup
    Freight
    Delivery
    Extended warranty
    Wheel tire warranty.

Back out of this deal. I will get you a better deal by far by 5 o'clock today.

    Administration,
    pre-paid maintenance
Lojack. (pro thieves will find and disable lojack on a bike before you know the bike is missing.

Forget all that stuff, it's not worth it. You can get into a brand new CBR600 for almost the $8k you have in cash.
