    Re: 2009 R1 VS Triumph Speed Triple

    The Speed Triple would be more upright and comfortible on the longer rides, yet still be agile for the twisties. This will relieve pressure from your shoulders and neck. The R1's more aggressive riding position will feel great in the twisties, but getting too and from will be a bit less enjoyable.

    I would choose the Speed Triple, and not just because I sell them (hint hint, wink wink).

    You're talking about the difference between clip-on bars or not. The seating position is much more upright on the S3.

    I'm not sure how many miles the average man could comfortably put on an R1 in a day but on the last day of this trip...

    ...I put on 556 miles over 11.5 hours in the saddle.

    On a True riding day I average around 450 to 500 Miles with a few stops for gas or sightseeing/taking pictures ,also noticed that more and more needing Saddlebags to carry my Camera Equipment and random day trip cargo .

    Re: 2009 R1 VS Triumph Speed Triple

    I have yet to ride a 500 mile day on my 09 R1 but I've riden 4-500 miles on previous year R1s and still had a smile on my face when i got home. I've been close to 375 in one day on my 09 and felt fine. The more i ride the bike, the more comfortable it seems. And it's looks and sounds quickly releive any pain and cramps I do start to feel

    Speed triple. And it looks and sounds better than the R1, so you'll be in even better shape!

    I disagree. The r1 looks infinitely sexier, and the sound of that crossplane motor is pretty hawt too. But personally, if I were to buy either, it'd be the trumpet. I'm not a sexy guy, so I shouldn't ride a sexy motorcycle.

    I'd have to go with the Speed as well, but I'm now officially a Triumph guy so I might be biased.

    Yeah, and make sure you don't get a tall one, or a fast one, or a light one either.

    R1=ugly. S3=beautiful.

    Haha, I just generally prefer naked bikes, though. Not a big Fairing fan....

    But seriously, the R1 is ugly as shit.
