Sweet. I always liked the subdued nature of the Dark models, but they usually were lower spec...looks like the 848 Dark keeps all the same bits. Seems like an awesome deal at $12,995 (wonder if this means the standard 848 price jumps to $14,995 next year).

I don't think it would look as good with the matte black. If the red paint on the frame was matte, then maybe...but that's pushing it. Absence of bright shiny color is the key.


EDIT: Side note, as for that pic, (besides the fact that its not a Dark model) I don't think Ducati made a base 1098 with that color scheme, that had to be custom. The 1098S was done like that, but that's no S model.
