Anyone know when this bike will be available or which dealerships might get one? I've called Freedom Cycle in Concord, NH to try to get on a list, but they didn't seem to think it was coming to the US this year.
I'm not sure I agree with that, the KTM USA website already has place holders for it and the new ADV 1190 which is definitely coming doesn't even have that yet.

I read that too; seems like wishful thinking as they admitted in the article that ktm will reveal the REAL price in December and the 2013 KTM Adventure 1190 R has a msrp of $16,500

I read it as 13,999 British pounds which is around $23k US.

Exchange rates on the price of motorcycles are never 1:1. They're always vastly more expensive in England than in the US. But I still have a feeling $12000 is 100% wishful thinking.

Ahhh yup. I have calendar reminders in my phone for when KTM releases the remaining secrets on their website. I've never been a fan of buying first gen anything because you know there's gonna be a ton of issues. I'm going wait and see actual real world reviews of the bike first before considering it. If the first gen has little to no issues, i'll consider. If I see a bunch of complaints or issues, i'll probably hold off until KTM adresses it in future gen's

and once again KTM prices themselves out of the market they will pull it from the US market in 2 years due to poor sales & wonder why just as they did with the 690 supermoto line and the original Super Duke.

I love KTM, but DAM they're making Duc prices seem reasonable.
