    Thoughts on ducati 749 dark?

A friend of mine found a 749 for a deal. Neither of us knows jack about them other than they are ugly and ducati. Anyone have first hand experience with one? Its super low mile and in perfect shape. Unknown service history but its assumed it needs a belt change.

I've heard they are one of the more comfortable Ducs.

without knowing the service history belts and a valve check are a must! plus oil change!

It's an 05 with 4000 miles. Thinks he can get it for under $4k. It's for my friend so no track days.

Good point about the valves. I told him to plan on belt and fluid change already.

Change the belts and oil/filter (easy). Don't worry about valve check until 6500 miles. $4000 for that is pretty good. 749 is an awesome bike. Not going to blow your mind with power, but what a sweet handler! Consider it an SV650 on steroids with bags more street cred.

plus, the 05 has the newer swingarm. The old swingarm was a pain in the balls.
