Kenda & Maxxi both have snow-specific tires that I'm hearing nothing but good things about. In fact, I'll be hunting down yet another set of OEM rear wheels for the Rappy this summer so I can outfit 'em with the Kenda snow tires...
For now I'm stuck with the Mud Lites XXL on the 'Cat. It'll be a long fuggin' time before I replace those again! While they absolutely suck in the snow, they're crazy bas-ass in mud & swampy shit...
Did you grit your teeth and try to look like Clint Fuckin' Eastwood?
Or did you lisp it all hangfisted like a fuckin' flower?
I don't think that *any* tire selection would help at this point. Larger diameter tires, like Sean has, might help. I have Dunlop 4 ply 25" tires, but I think that I would need 30" tires to be able to go anywhere in this stuff.
I hope that the snow settles or melts a bit. Soon. I hate being couped up in the house.
I am going to have to take up RC buggies or something...
When you are talking about snow-specific tires, are you talking about paddle type tires?

Check out plowsite.
Ur doing it wrong if you don't have heated grips, power angle, and a cab....

While it took me 10 times longer to plow my driveway than normal, I was still able to do it with my Kodiak 400. Power was never an issue, it was traction.
Today I just tried to plow my path down to the big rock...waaaaaaaay more snow in the woods! Well over 2'! I got stuck several times with the plow up, and the snow was still deaper than the front of the plow raised up. I only made it down about 400' of the 1,600' trail before giving up.
Yamaha
I guess I should have clarified , I had plenty of power, traction was a premium , maybe chains would have helped but I doubt it, I could get the stuff up top in the flat area some what cleared but forget about the hill.
and to be clear I have these

not mud lites

the problem is that the snow builds up under the 4 wheeler and once the wheels get to the pavement they just spin , I think if I had a gravel driveway I might have found some traction

if the ATV won't cut it and you're getting out the snow blower anyways, why not just use the snow blower for everything?
if I take it a foot at a time I can plow the driveway in 15 mins. even if I snow blow a foot at a time its about an hour- 1.5 hours .
175' long x 12 ft wide with a turn around up top big enough for 5 cars .
so much faster to plow than snow blow .
the only reason I have the blower is that was the first thing we had when we moved in , then up graded to a plow .
ask most plow guys they won't wait to plow 24 " all at once , they go out multiple times .

My neighbor seemed to do fine with his Polaris....not sure what size the machine is but it didn't appear he had any issues.....well, not until I sent him a white out courtesy of Toro.
