Anyone using kevlar lined jeans from dragginjeans.com?

I just orederd a pair. They look pretty stout in the ass and knees. Hoping they fit well and are somewhat comfortable. Went to the local dealer yesterday to see whay they had and the selection was limited to Icon brand with skulls and shit on the back pockets....like big skulls. LOL, no sale on those i told the guy as we laughed.

Anyways jeans on order and next up is a nice pair of boots. My Sidi Vertigo Corsas are way too much for the street...

Wore mine into work today. These jeans fit very well and they are not kidding when they say they fit true to size. I rock 34-33 and had to go with their 34-32 which actually fit pretty well minus the 1 inch missing from the inseam. They are comfortable on days like today, but when it starts warming up they get alittle uncomfortable sometimes. Just remember the gold bond and you will be good.

Had a pair years ago. Fit well, but found them to be hotter than normal riding pants in the summer.

Hotter and most of the Kevlar jeans are kinda baggy... will flap in the breeze and might roll in a crash. Better than regular jeans though. (I have about 4 pair)

I got a pair of A* axioms. They were the least baggy ones I could find. Good amount of kevlar material, pockets for armor, high waist, zippers at the bottom for your boots. They are a lot heavier than normal jeans though.

So...these wont be good for an 8 hour shift in a 100+ degree machine shop with no a/c?

Hopefully they arent too baggy. I got the classic fit as opposed to the relaxed fit, so hopefully they will be ok. They can be returned if they suck though.

I've had a pair of 'Draggin Jeans' for 6 years or so. Used to wear them pretty often. Crashed once (low speed tip over really) and they held up OK.

Definately an improvement over regular jeans. The only problem is, you have to be wearing them for them to work....!

I rock the Cortech jeans on most rides, Comfortable for the most part. I don't like leaving the armor in if I will be walking around a lot. With out the armor they aren't that bad, heavy !!!! but you can wear them all day.

You will sweat your ass off in a machine shop with those on. Bring a change of pants with you or leave them at your shop. I picked up the relaxed fit first and I couldn't perfect the gansta lean so I had to exchange them for the classic fit which fit fine.

I've had a pair of the classic fit for 8? years and am still happy with them other than heat in the summer. I use the velcro'd Knox knee armor in them. I ordered a pair of the looser fit (Carpenter style, maybe?) recently, returned them instantly because they were ridiculously baggy and there's no way they wouldn't twist all around in a crash.

So which do we think offers better summer protection:

    - Kevlar lined jeans
    - Regular jeans (or shorts!) under decent quality armored mesh over pants

Kevlar for the abrasion, armor for the impact, choose your poison....

Anyone ever have a get off wearing these type of jeans? I was looking at Draggin Jeans but I have seen some pictures of them pretty torn up after a crash. I suppose they're better than regular jeans though.

Better hope the non-Kevlar part doesn't drag at all, because if they shred in the non-reinforced areas, the reinforced areas are not going to be where they need to be. That might true of mesh with armor too though so

So Ive been wearing them now for a few rides, matter of fact I have them on as I type this, and so far I like them. Comfortable and they make me feel a little better than just regular jeans.

    Pete, I say get them.

I own 2 pairs of riding jeans. Both made by icon. I will never buy a pair of their riding jeans again. The amount of kevlar lining in them is so minimal its pathetic. Granted, the jeans themselves are a little heavier than anything you would normally wear, they are still cheaper than I expected.

When I punched the clock at a machine every day (30 years of it) I would always have a pair of work pants and steel-toed, chip-infested soled shoes waiting for me there. I didn't care that some places I worked had no locker room, I found a place to keep the stuff or asked the owner to do so. If they wanted me at work, they accommodated me. And they always did.

That said, I always wore either leather pants or armored textile riding pants. I've never owned a pair of the Draggin' Jeans or similar, but if I did I wouldn't want the machine shop oil & steel smell in them.

Ya I hear ya, its totally no problem other than carrying an extra pair of pants. I have ample locker space, time and changing area/gym/locker room/shower right at work. I figure sling on a backpack with an extra pair and off I go.

Re: Anyone using kevlar lined jeans from dragginjeans.com?

If anyone is interested.. I have a brand new pair of draggin jeans that have been sitting in my closet for a couple of years. I think they're 30x30 (maybe 31x30) Utility Style.
I'd sell them for half price... tags are still on them.

LuvDog, I'm interested if the sizes run close to regular jeans.

    What style/color are they?
