    - The natural anatomical shape of the back protector is very much like your spine (a very shallow "S" shape" when viewed from the side, offering no limitatons to normal bike movements. It gives better coverage, is more compact and more comfortable than other models.
    - Made with lite weight honeycomb structure (high density polyethlyene padding) absorbs and disperses impact energy. This padding literlly burns up most of the impact energy before its reaches the riders.
    - Seven articulating high impact ABS plastic covers riveted to high density mesh covered polyethlyene padding. ABS plastic covers are interlinked in such a way that they allow freedom of movement while bending, but also while leaning side to side.
    - Wide elastic waist belt with velcro adjustment which makes it highly adjustable (anywhere from very skinny to pretty darn big).
    - Elasticized shoulder straps and adjustable nylon belt with velcro fastening system.

... who makes it? how much?

looks alright... i love my Bohn. the testimonials on their site are what sold me on it, too... some guy got into a crash & was wearing the Carbon Kevlar one that i got (1 step below the racing one) and the doc that checked him out told him that his spine woulda easily been broken if he wasn't wearing it, and he could see three of the pannels in the bruising on the guys back. *add to cart, *check out, thank you

If the price is right, go for it. Even a bad one is better than none.

both are about the same price. Both are from private vendors. First one is made primarily for horse-riding and the second is from a motorcycle company in Cali. I just bought a camcorder on Ebay that I wasn't expecting to win the auction so this may go on hold for a few....

the second one looks like it covers your tailbone more. alot of people forget to protect the tailbone. if you land sitting down you could really fuck yourself up

I like the top 1 better. But if the lower one is designed for the bike, Id go with that one.

the top one mentions bikes in the description but I found it listed under equestrian. I like the top one more and am still waiting for a response from the person selling it. I am concerned with the size of the second one because it is only a large. It is listed for someone 5'10 -6'1 or so and I am 6'3 so it may not reach my tailbone anyway. I don't know.

So far it seems a bit split....

i didn't want to throw this out there cause of the reaction that it is sure to receive but both of those are less than 50.... The old you get what you pay for is gonna come out from someone I am sure - on the other hand these are direct from the people that make them so you get em much cheaper.

never said ya HAD to pay 150 I didn't, i got it on sale.

like CBR said, any one is better than none... only reason why i asked was to see which one was more expensive or if they were about the same price

if you said "they're both 50 bucks" i woulda said "sweet".... only thing i see wrong w/ em is that they don't give you much tail bone protection.
