They made an F6C before. It was called the Valkyrie.

While I really want to be excited about what the F6C might be, other offerings from Honda of late don't have my hopes very high.

To answer some questions and comments...

I am loving the F6B. From where I live, it requires some interstate to efficiently get to where I want to ride. This bike handles that wonderfully and is the fun to ride when I get to the fun parts. I'm not out to challenge each corner or call out "hey, look at me." with noise. I'm content to spen a long day covering distance and seeing areas I'm never seen before. The F6B works perfectly for my requirements. But, YMMV, as everyone rides differently and for different reasons.

To Jasnmar, consider what Honda has debuted in the last year. Even if they're not your cup of tea, is any other manufacturer putting as many new models on the floor in a real attempt to counteract the aging of the motocycling demographic and revitalize the market?

That's great. Glad to hear the machine is scratching the itch. I have to say, every time I look at the F6B on paper or in person I 'get it' a little more. I don't think I could do a wing or the F6B as my only ride. But for crushing miles and still having a little fun when you get there.. yeah, I get that.

I totally dig the no-top box and 'gunfighter' seat styling too. I run givi hard bags on my 'strom for a kinda/sorta similar look. I think my 'strom looks about as good as a 'strom is ever gonna look. Ditto for this F6B config. Should help cure the styling roadblock for a lot of buyers.

Re: 500 miles through the Catskills and back

The "trunkless wing" was something that was already available. They didn't come up with anything... http://www.mblinnovations.com/. I don't understand why you would want one that removes the option of having a trunk, but I do get the fact that stylistically this isn't as "old manny" as the wing.

Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely loyal to Honda. I've never owned a different brand of motorcycle. What Honda is doing, is changing their offers into a few more specific "platforms" with optional package accessories for them.

    F6 Platform
    • Goldwing (F6G?)
    • F6B
    • F6C

    700 Platform
    • CTX700
    • NC700X
    • CTX700N

    500 Platform
    • CB500X
    • CBR500R
    • CB500F

    1300 C Platform
    • Sabre
    • Stateline
    • Interstate

Notice a pattern? Yes, they have a lot of new models. Not really so many new "bikes".

In a confusing turn of events, they've also introduced the CB1100, which is unlike anything else in their line up.

I completely get it. I understand what they are doing. I'm just not sure that such a cookie cutter approach to designing motorcycles invokes any passion in their buyers. I was wrong once before though. Perhaps I am again .

Next time you go up near hunter, make sure to go up and down 23a a few times. It'll bring down a canyon with some water falls.

Shouldn't this say "re-education" department. The poor store closed because a superior system (albeit unfair) wanted the market to themselves. How many of the members of the Education Deparemtnet lament the indigenous people their ancestors killed and displaced so they could have all the land to themselves.

Not surprisingly, it didn't smell good near the community drum circle!
