None of that aired while I was watching sesame street.
Wow, this is pretty cool. Just joined the forums. Got my first bike a few months ago, an '84 CB650 Nighthawk. And not tooo far from me, either.
Don't know if you're tool set holder cover is missing or not, but there's a guy over on a Nighthawk specific forum who's molding them himself and they look factory.
Keep the thread going, bringing old bikes back to life is a lot of fun. i got back into riding because a friend gave me a 1980 KZ1000 tht had been sitting in his barn for a few yrs. Its all restored now and is a frequent visitor to Lowell on Tuesday nights.
Spring bump!
As it sits now, mocked it up with the painted tins for shit's and giggles. Just needs a few more bits (mostly carb related) and it should hopefully run!
Well, I went down to Sky Cycle Salvage today. Picked up a headlight bucket, a more intact tail section, and a valve cover.
The valve cover was a little rough though when I got it.
But just wait and see what I do with it.
In other news, I've been meaning to recover the seat on this bike as the existing cover has some rips in it and is quite faded. I re-did the seat on my old Honda Shadow with a cover I bought off ebay for $40 and it came out pretty good
But I can't decide on a color. Should I go with the traditional black? Or should I go with a more retro brown?
I was thinking something like the color of the seat on this old 550 cafe that a friend of mine built.
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Brown, all the way.
just caught this thread. great work so far.
i agree on the color - i think a brown seat would look very cool and set it apart.
So awesome.
49 states do it one way, and Massachusetts does it their own way.
Nah. The crimson needs the strong black to offset it. (Excellent work, BTW!)
Go fast. Have fun. Repeat.
