    Accomodations in Bethel, ME?

I'm heading out Sunday morning 7/24 for a two-day loop north, and I'm thinking of staying in Bethel, ME Sunday night.

Can anyone recommend a good place to stay in Bethel? Doesn't have to be fancy, but bike-friendly and convenient to walk to eateries.

    Thanks,

    Kurt

Bethel Inn, or Sunday River. i dont know if the snow cap lodges at SR are open in the summer but they would be the cheapest.

Hey thanks, Alec, really great offer, I appreciate it, but plans keep changing, looks like I'll pass through Bethel, stay elsewhere ...

The Mill Hill Inn is a relatively new and very cool place to check out if you happen to end up spending the night in Bethel. I'd skip Sunday River, as it's not likely to be a very happening place off-season (although I think there is an adventure race this weekend, so there might be a large number of insane and insanely fit people running around, literally).

If you're travelling towards Bethel from New Hampshire, consider crossing the river east of Gorham as North Rd. leaves Rt. 2 and take that to Bethel. Some lousy pavement involved (including one crest that will have you airborne if you're not careful), but a much nicer ride than Rt. 2, especially with traffic.
