time for me to go insurance shopping again. today I'm going to outsource my job of finding the lowest rate to you.
Right now I'm with liberty @189/year/bike but I think that can improve
So who's got the cheapest rate in MA today?
Insurance has so many variables that are assigned to you: your driving history, age, the vehicle(s), your residence, job and marital status etc etc can all play a part in your rate... and this is all assuming similar coverage.
I can tell you what I pay and who I'm with but I guarantee our rates will be different. I have Geico for my cars and Progressive for 6 motorcycles. Cheapest I've found that works for me
Hate to say it, but you're gonna have to put in the time to get quotes if you want to save money.

Cheaper than $189/year? You can’t be serious.
Its low but insurance is 50% business, 50% scam. You will never get lower rates until you shop and drop, rinse and repeat, every 2-3 years. Its literally worth your time to do this. That's how I got to 189/year. Somebody can always quote you for a lower rate with no changes to coverage.
If you feel that the best deal is the cheapest rate, go for it.
For me, it's about building a relationship with a local agent and having multiple policies bundled together. She often reaches out to me with offers to save by changing coverages, deductibles, etc. I even just got a nice refund due to the hardships of Covid.
The rubber really meets the road when you have a claim!
I’ve had the same agent for the past 26 years, the last 20 years I’ve had the same insurance company. AutoCycle is the agent, ForeMost is the company. 2016 Tuono Factory 1100 is $240 per year for full coverage, it was an additional $68 recently per year to add a 2007 R1 to my policy. Both have liability coverages if $100/300k.
I’ve always been amazed that Ma. has such a low liability requirement, even more amazed that people actually buy that low coverage.

Well Foremost is out:
Our motorcycle program is not available in Massachusetts or Hawaii.
Well here you are folks. 45 minutes of "work":
Geico coming in at $99/year
Progressive at $75/year
all others left me on hold or said they'd get back to me with a quote. fuck that noise I'm going with progressive for the next 3 years.
$75 a year? That's got to be some top notch insurance coverage or you're insuring something that's worth next to nothing.

Ahhh, gotcha. Makes more sense now. Still seems low unless it's just liability.

I had the same agency for 35 years, but switched to a different agency about 5 years ago, I found that as the older agents I was dealing with were retiring, and the younger replacements were not providing the same service, I had a problem with my homeowners, and 35 year old shingles on my roof, that were not leaking or a problem for me. Best they could find was eeekspensive rates thru Lloyd's, New agency found me normal rates thru Vermont Ins. Co. Needless to say, I switched ALL my insurance homeowners, commercial, inland marine, business auto, workers comp, powersports, everything, been with the new agency about 5 years

and then the bullshit when I did my own home repairs, the new younger agents came out with "we need to see the bill from a licensed contractor", I'm there WFT (very loudly I might add) This is New Hampshire, there is no such fucking thing, plumbers, yes, electricians, yes, gas installers, sure, but none of those things were required
scares me where that mentality comes from

Both the Hypermotard and the 998 are with GEICO and I'm paying $255 in total. Hypermotard has collision coverage but the 998 doesn't.

Auto Cycle, the agent checks for better prices for you at renewal time. He’s never found a rate worth changing company’s for for my MC policy.
My antique truck, is a different story. I had Gieco the first 2 years, then progressive after that, to today’s current date.
I just got my renewal notice, the premium went down by $35.00 per year. I also have coverages I didn’t know I had.. take note other Italian bike owners of the roadside assistance.. lol
And Trackday coverage

I actually just switched from Geico to Progressive and my rates for both motos and cars are now less than half. I told my buddy who switched both of his to Progressive as well, and his rates were cut in half too.
I currently pay ~$175 per year for full coverage on my 1290 Super Adventure and CRF250L Rally.
You might want to check out Progressive. Don't ask me why they are so much cheaper.

any independent agent will do that at renewal time, it is their job, I have same agent for all my policies, she never found better than Progressive for me, I switched agencies a few years ago, for better homeowner coverage, but new agent kept me with Progressive for motorsports. Claims service depends on the particular adjuster, Progressive has a good one in our area, he does not argue with dealer estimates
