I think we're on the same page here.
Just rode down to Scituate last month on I93 and Rt3.
Yup, 70-75 no problem. I'm not talking about 2up or carrying a wood stove. It's turning some RPM's at those speeds, that's why you pay for things like titanium valves. The biggest shortcoming is the seat, and I'm not sure there are even aftermarket options for them.

you're better than this.
also, ti valves are only as good as their seats, guides, and cams and shims.
Re: New African Twin Maybe 1200cc
That Corbin looks pretty cool, though at $366 I'd have to think about just how many long road rides I'll be taking. The WR is the bike left on the road year-round so highway riding is a thing.

Sort of, the valve itself being far lighter will transfer less energy into all of those parts.
Re: New African Twin Maybe 1200cc
Right. But when one of those links is foul, the valve being ti matters not.

If a tree falls in the woods.. NESR will argue about it.

woo hoo! I rode one!
"no $hit" statements in 3...2...1...
It's still too big and heavy for serious desert/dirt stuff for me. It's just a better (in every way) version of the vstrom...excellent adv touring bike! but this one is smoother, quieter, better suspension (definitely nicer than the harsh AF YZ), better brakes, handles better off-road, easier to ride, better electronics, more comfortable, excellent road manners, unprecedented honda quality. And I'm sure if I practiced more and spent more money, I could be an excellent rider off road with it (there are many riders that are...saw plenty at LAB2V just shredding it). But I'll stick to my Vstrom/YZ combo for now w' an inexpensive 1/2 ton natural gas pickup for nw.
so yeah, my view is pretty much useless for all y'll real riders.
@ Kurlon - if ya wanna fly n ride, rent the vstrom one day, and the AT the next day. Then a KTM the next day. Actually, just budget money for renting bikes....send the wife/cats to disney.
But I rode it! hooray for me!
