Also: next time you do that, do a better job. There's a couple of hazy marks on the windscreen and that's about it. Literally nothing that: won't buff right out.
Sure you really want to issue that challenge

No tire walls in sight. Settled for a mud puddle. Made sure I went in shoulder first. Aerostich is now tri color.

Re: New African Twin Maybe 1200cc

Officially announced in Canada : Africa Twin > Adventure Motorcycles from Honda Canada

Only two models; base and ABS+DCT. Rumor has it the mid-range ABS non-DCT package will not be offered in the US either. Honda fails the US market again.

Edit: Spec sheet on US website shows 3 curb weights : http://powersports.honda.com/documen...Twin_Specs.pdf
    Hope remains.

Excited about the ABS MT model. In Honda CRF red + white please.

Re: New African Twin Maybe 1200cc

Because they only offered 2 of the 3 variants they "failed the US market" ?

The minute they announce this in the US, all the posers who have been yelling for this bike to come here and applauding it will immediately nit-pick it to death, find the reasons why it is now Honda's fault that "a bike I really wanted I cannot now buy because .... (some minor issue)"

    It is so predictable...

if it was ONLY 20 lbs lighter
if it ONLY had 15 more Hp
if it was ONLY offered with DCT and an espresso machine installed
if the tank held ONLY 0.5 more gallons
if the seat height was only 1" different...

...THEN I would have bought it !

Easy there grouchy. I'm allowed to be disappointed, thank you very much.

Because they don't offer the electronics (ABS, TC)-which imho are pretty much mandatory of a motorcycle positioned in this segment-unless you take the DCT as well. Lack of ABS on such a machine is not a "minor issue" nowadays. Yes, I want my cake and I want to eat it too. So what of it?!

Although the spec-sheet I just found suggests they may offer all three models in the US, same as Europe. Maybe only Canada gets screwed here.

Weight is heavier than I expected.
Power is lower than I expected.

May be able to look the other way on both as it is a Honda. I swore I'd never buy a new bike again ever.. but I may buy this.

    I don't even drink expresso.

    Wirelessly posted (GS3)

It will be the SV1k all over. When suzuki made the 650 everyone loved it and constantly asked for a 1k. 4 years later suzuki delivered and no one bought it.

    This.
Although there's nothing between this and the xr650l from honda.
    And that's a big gap.

Re: New African Twin Maybe 1200cc

I dunno. I'd still consider this bike if the price is right. I wouldn't rush out to replace my bike with it, but I'd check it out when I'm ready fur a new bike.

Still probably end up with a new Tiger though (unless they prove to have electrical issues).

They are offering it in DCT (like the VFR1200) and standard 6 speed.

I had hoped the RWB color scheme would come here, but silver does have stealth appeal.

CRF red for me. The gold rims on the white is just a bridge too far for me.

Not an enormous fan of the instruments. Rotary dials are just so much easier on the eyes.

The preview videos make a big deal out of the DCT.
I think it's worth test riding before shitting on.

Why? We already know it is boring from the VFR.

There's a video out there of test-riders just gushing over how great the DCT is on the ATwin...

Let me see if I can...

Re: New African Twin Maybe 1200cc

Sure, it could just be marketing.
Or maybe they realized their DCT was boring and shit and they did something to it.
Only one way to find out.
