    Rent, yes.
Rent mine own, probably not. I don’t want randoms showing up at the ripper estates.

    Nah.
Def not rent mine def wouldn’t rent one unless there’s some sort of liability.
Good concept though and the parties involved will make some decent money.

I am debating about buying a used bike or two and keeping them at the airport (the local airport has free motorcycle parking) for this purpose.

    Re: AirBNB, for motorcycles

I would NEVER even remotely consider renting any of my vehicles and would never do the AirBnB thing either, regardless of any type of insurance, I have pretty much ZERO trust in the great majority of humanity.

Here is a video I saw last week related to this, there is a car service called Turo that does personal car rentals:

Don't bother watching whole vid, guy babbles way too much, skip to 4:20 (thru 6:30 for damage & cost) for the shit part of the story where the renter tells the owner the bad news.

Maybe rent, definitely no for renting mine out though. Not a chance. My father hasn't even ridden my gsxr. Two people have, me and the guy who put it together at the dealer lol.

Depending on the details I'd consider trying the supply side of this. The CRF and Husky have great ergos (seat height notwithstanding) and crash well. I wonder if they'd accept the R6 at $500/day for track duty. The Hyper is the most broadly useful but I'd ask a lot.

I have used Turo a few times as a renter and had really good experiences. Its great when you want something fun while traveling.

Its just like Turo but for bikes. I have and am renting-out. Low gains, always late returns, damaged gear, and lots of time wasted. 4/10 do not recommend renting out anything valuable.

    Re: AirBNB, for motorcycles

    I’ve used them too…I rented a 2021 BMW R1250GS, KTM 1190, and a 250xc-w TPI

I would never pony up to spend $8-$20k to own those. But they were sure as hell fun the one weekend/day a year I had the itch; and they sure as hell fit the bill better than the 690

You’re not married to the bike you own and variety is the spice of life. It’s good to have options and the freedom to choose them. #murica

    Re: AirBNB, for motorcycles

I priced it out for the two day jolly time with breakdirt in CA a month ago.

The limited mileage was the kicker.

Ended up renting from EagleRider and was very pleased. Unlimited miles, solid bike, good tires (michelin road 5's), well maintained, etc.

Pricing ended up being cheaper than all the extras and mileage charges riders-share charges. Watch out for the fees.... they don't tell them to you up front when you book, only when you actually have to pay.

    Re: AirBNB, for motorcycles

Oh ya I did get F’d on mileage with the R1250GS riding a little ways up the coast…good call Iglu

The only other advantage I liked with riders share/twisted road is I could coordinate with the owner to pickup late after work at 7-9pm and return it pretty late too to maximize riding for a trip. The B&M shops were typically 9-5. One of the rider share owners liked me so much they allowed me to rent it off the app last minute for a dirt bike trip when another bike fell through.
