Yeah riding wouldn't be worth it. Gear up for a sub 15 min commute? Nah.

I used to ride in the teens and down to zero. I don't have any heated stuff on the FZ1 yet, so I haven't bothered. I really don't mind cold riding though. Sand/salt/ice put my riding season to an end though. Not worth the risk.
13 was the lowest I went......then I sold the streetbike
It is too cold.

I was fully planning to get out yesterday for my first post-accident ride despite temps forecast in the teens... but Friday night and Saturday mother nature had other ideas and decided to drop snow on us. So between the caked-on salt and ice patches still on the roads yesterday, I thought it best not to take any chances just yet.
Previous winters I've happily gone for rides with temps in the teens and single digits, provided the roads were clean and dry. And occasionally on snowy dirt roads, when I had studded tires mounted to my XR. Comfort is fine if you're dressed for it, which in my case includes a heated vest. In fact, with the heated vest and heated grips going, it can actually be very pleasant.

If I can screw up the energy to gear up, riding in the teens (sans ice or snow) is one of the real pleasures in my life. Heated jacket liner, gloves and grips, there's something about the great visibility through the curves, the bracing air, and the extra HP from the dense air, that I really love. The only thing that's keeping me from heading out right now is lazyness. Oh, and work...! But maybe I'll head out for lunch somewhere!

I rode to work today. Thermometer said 12 degrees when I left the house. 45 minute ride from North Hampton to Plaistow on the Honda Shadow (the Ninja's torn down for repairs).
This was definitely a personal best. As my coworker said this morning "OK, so we all now know you have balls, now drive the Civic to work". Will keep it up until roads are snowy/icy/sandy.
If I didn't get a ticket every time I rode to work i would still be riding in. When I was working in Cambridge, I rode in everyday unless there was snow/slush in the streets.
Rode 50 miles at 8 am yesterday at 25 degrees. Didn't enjoy it all that much. Decided not to ride to work today (20 miles) as the teens were my breaking point. CBR + no heated gear = take the car.

I've got geared gear too and it certainly makes a huge difference.
Of course I don't have long commutes anymore, so for me it would just be a fun ride.
I think the fun ends for me when it is either not sunny or bellow 30 degrees.
Whichever comes first.
I will still trail ride, but it is kind of cold for street speeds.
I am still riding.. although today I am riding the couch trying to kick this chest cold![]()
30 degrees for me, too. At or below freezing temps, my fingertips and thumbs get very cold even with heated grips. Otherwise I'm pretty comfortable.
Next investment for cold weather riding would be hand guards to keep the wind off of my hands, but I'm not sure if I will bother doing that or just ride the 30+ degree days.

Rode in mid-20s, snow falling....Wouldn't have if I didn't have to (all the cages were in need of repair). It was the longest 10 min ride of my life.
Once the thermometer drops below 50, forget about it....50-60 is questionable. Such a fair weather rider now....

If you run into a wall with a helmet on, you still ran into a wall.
Still riding. When not taking naps on ice patches.
that's where I draw the line.
Is the ride longer than the time it takes me to gear up
not many short rides in winter for me, my ride's almost gotta be 50 miles or more to be worthwhile
once I determine the destination is further than the gear up time, then not much stops me![]()

I hate the cold and so riding in low temps is just not enjoyable to me. Also take offs don't stick too well in those kind of temps![]()
i hate the cold but sometimes i feel like i just have to ride.
once the snow falls bikes are put away. temperature doesnt matter as long as the roads are clean.
but anything below 40 is def not enjoyable
It was 9 here this morning, I didn't think about riding at all. It was also in the low 90's where my bike is stored, so i didn't want to disturb it
