Hey guys I'm new here but have been riding since 1973 when I was 8. My old house mate was Dave Sadowski's mechanic back in the Daytona days. My current mount is a 650R, which is just a wonderful bike. Sure it is down on power relative to some other rides I've owned or ridden but it's still a great bike. It could use better suspension more than it could use more engine, actually!
Anyway, check out my interview with Transportation Commissioner Tom Tinlin and what is going on at my blog:

What I am asking you do is to email the following passage to this email chain (to all Mayoral candidates, of course but as Kevin is a friend of mine who has raced at Isle of Man we KNOW he's down for the Cause).
thomas.tinlin@cityofboston.gov, road_captain@verizon.net, nate3582@hotmail.com, jeff@jeffcutler.com, seanfitzroy@gmail.com, Stephanie.Alves@cityofboston.gov, Bill.Linehan@cityofboston.gov, sam.yoon@cityofboston.gov, Charles.Yancey@cityofboston.gov, Chuck.Turner@cityofboston.gov, Michael.F.Flaherty@cityofboston.gov, Michael.Ross@cityofboston.gov, mayor@cityofboston.gov, ABadr@statestreet.com, info@billtrabucco.com, electkevin@gmail.com, kingjurisdoctor@gmail.com
.......and note that I am a cc on it for public records purposes, this way I can track it. I like to sue the government on public records stuff but I don't think this will come to all of that, just keeping records in case they don't Do the Right Thing

Dear Mayor Menino and Transportation Commissioner Tinlin:
We are glad to hear that you have been discussing the no-angle parking ban with Richard Shoefield from Mass Motorcycle and individual citizens like KingCast. This is just a note to show our support for your efforts at parking reform to encourage the use of dedicated parking and/or multiple parking spaces at one meter for motorcycles and large scooters, much like we see at the beach the first link.

The City should be encouraging the use of these machines and not ticketing bikes and making them park in a less stable manner, as noted in this post and i-Paper document:

We thank you in advance for your continued time and attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
NESR member

BTW this email came from Mass Motorcycle Org yesterday:
Dear Sir,
My name is Richard Schofield and I am the District 1 Manager (which includes the City of Boston) for the Massachusetts Motorcycle Association (MMA). The MMA is a not-for-profit organization formed many years ago for the protection of motorcyclist's rights in the Commonwealth and is the only recognized motorcyclists rights organization in Massachusetts. You can find out more about us at:
http://massmotorcycle.org
We here at the MMA share your concerns about motorcycle parking issues in Boston, and also that for Scooters, etc. We are well aware of these issues and have been working on resolving our concerns with the City to the mutual satisfaction of all parties involved. To wit, we recently had a very productive meeting with City of Boston, Department of Transportation officials. They seemed sympathetic and genuinely interested in responding. Commissioner Tinlin was especially positive and we came away from the meeting with a high level of confidence and expectations.
One of the results was that a Task Force is being formed with representatives of people who ride "scooters", et al. Recently enacted legislation has created a new set of problems for this riding group, as I'm sure you know.
I thank you for your interest and will keep you well apprised of our progress. Feel free to contact me with any and all concerns.
Richard Schofield
District 1 Manager
