Dude... that's huge. Think you can find someone to fab up the rest?

The airbox as a case, is complete. I’m waiting to hear back on the fuel lines, apparently a lot of the 5FL R7 specific parts for the EFI, were used in later model Yamaha motorcycles… same part, just a different part number. The rubber base gaskets may be the biggest issue.

SICK!
There are places that custom cut gaskets... can you take a scan or measurements and send them off for a custom gasket?

Hard to believe it’s been a year having this bike. It’s been a great project for sure, and hopefully will soon be complete.
I’m waiting on the final parts needed, most are currently in South Africa. I’m trading a couple of spare parts I have, for what I need to complete the bike. The guy in South Africa has 2 R7’s and a bunch of spares.
The bike stayed warm in our sunroom all winter under a cover, but did let some daylight hit it from time to time.

WTF? This thread hasn't seen any attention in an awful long time. Has it seen the pavement yet this year?

Sad to say, I haven’t touched the bike in a while. I did find the correct fuel fittings to make new fuel lines, but haven’t located the actual plastic fuel lines yet.
I’ve got the final parts that are missing coming from a shop in South Africa, he’s just waiting to have the airbox base gaskets 3D printed before shipping everything.
I also need to find 4 primary fuel injectors, the bike sat for 15 years and the injectors are stuck. I may try and send them out to be cleaned, but it’s unlikely all 4 of them will work properly.
I’ve bought and sold a few bikes recently as well, which has eaten into my free time.
I’ll update once I get the last round of parts, and hopefully get it running.

Let me look into that, they have some pretty cool apps that let you scan an object with your phone then 3D print it. I haven't tried it yet but have been wanting to so this gives me a good excuse to give it a go and see how accurate it is. I'll download the app and scan some items I can test it with that have some specific measurements to do some comparisons.
And I assume this gasket is pretty flexible, so I will try printing with TPU filament. How hot does this gasket get? I will need to check the specs of TPU to make sure it's up to the task.

I’d assume the gasket gets close to the engine operating temperature, I think the Yamaha range is 174-218. I had ordered a piece of Neoprene to see if they could be cut on a CNC machine. I think the density of the neoprene was a close match to the original, but at least I can find out what I ordered

Maybe, just maybe there will be a video of the R7 running in a couple weeks. I’ve been in contact with a guy from the UK that has a lot of Parts, has most of the correct fuel lines, new fuel injectors, and other assorted small parts I need. Still no airbox to throttle body gaskets, but he’s looking through the crates of parts still.
