The bodywork that’s on it, appears to be new.. but was damaged in shipping. There’s not a single road chip in them, and no marks around the mounting tabs. The paint is perfect, there are are a few cracks in the fiberglass.
I have 3 fuel tanks now, two standard tanks, and one YEC tank. 2 in perfect/new condition, 1 has very minor use scratches.

They are the OE forks, that have been modified. The stock R7 fork bottoms have been replaced with a radial mount brake caliper set up.

Yeah, it's those fork bottoms I noticed, performance internals in the forks too?

Tail is complete, all with original new OE Yamaha R7 parts. And with a successful visit to the DMV, it’s now plated and in my name.

The new ignition came in today as well and I was able to power up the system. One of my fears from it sitting for 15 years, was the possibility of the engine being frozen. Luckily it wasn’t. And while I suspected very low miles based on a visual inspection of the parts that see nicks and chips from any road or track use, I had no idea it would be this low. Mind you, it’s in Km’s and not miles.

That's only about 288 miles!! Wow!

So all you need now to run it is completion of the coolant system piping?

Holy cow, do you think the miles are really that low? Or was this thing mostly used on the track with the gauge cluster removed?

If the miles are really that low then you have some time before your first oil change ;-)

The coolant tube, and an air box. The coolant tube can easily be reproduced, the air box is a bit more challenging. While in theory I could start the engine without it, I couldn’t ride it and it wouldn’t run correctly.

I’d question the miles/KM’s, but there are areas on a bike that show signs of use after the first ride, let alone several rides. The swingarm in front of the tire shows no signs of use, and the chain sliders have almost no signs of use. I’m also not even sure the bike will run without the dash hooked up?

Can you find anyone with a stock air box? I have no idea how complex they are, but am wondering if you could have one scanned and 3D printed somehow?

I think instead of having it 3d printed you could use a 3d printed one to create a mold to make your own carbon fiber one. That would be neat!

I got thinking about it, instead of scanning a box, get a copy of the original cadd drawing files and 3d print from that

Good luck getting a 3d model of that haha. That would have been very early in the 3d modeling game too.

All great ideas and I wish someone would let me borrow their airbox, but the chances are slim to none. I’m confident that in time, I will find one.. and a normal person would be patient and wait. While this bike is amazing to just sit and look at, I want to be able to ride it before the end of the summer.

Could you not throw some pod filters on there just to get it going while you track down an airbox? Fueling may be a bit tricky but should be able to get close.

No, there’s nothing to clamp them to. The air box on the R7 acts as a gasket between the throttle bodies, and the secondary shower injectors. The airbox gets bolted directly to the throttle bodies, the shower injectors bolt through the airbox, and are inside the airbox itself.

Ah. That sounds expensive and not easy to track down. Do you have the shower injectors already?
