    MORE BAD NEWS

    Was out on a ride today and the guy I was riding with went down hard. We were heading through Tilton (downtown) crossing the tracks I was in front with my girlfriend on back and next thing I know his bike passed me with him sliding beside the bike out cold and slide into the curb. The bike smashed into the back of a truck after it passed me. He was bleeding everywhere and was out cold for a few. He didn't have his helmet on for this ride but was very lucky, he broke his collarbone and gashed his eye,the back of his head and elbow,and recieved road rash all over his arms and face. My girlfriend was pretty shook up over it and is kinda scared to ride for awhile,I just tried to stay calm untill help came which it came real quick. Not really sure what happened but just wanted people to know how important gear can be. He was only doing about 30mph. HE IS VERY LUCKY!!!

    JJ,

    Hope everythings turns out okay for your friend. Sometimes we need to learn the hard way that we aren't indestructable. I hope you and your girl were smart enough to be wearing your gear.

    Jay;

    no it wasn't Adam..... I though it was when he said he just got a new seat cowl in the 4 sale section.

    Reason being, after we left you guys last weekend and did 113 through Evans, we stopped. When we took off, Adam's seat cowl flew off and got run over by a cage.

    It was another local dude here who rides with JJ every now and then. He just got it a month ago. Before that, he had a Honda Hurricane.

    JJ- glad to hear you kept it together, hope your bud recovers soon... and that he learned a (relatively) cheap lesson about gear.

    Well I feel very lucky because before I met you guys I wore a helmet less then the guy that crashed did. But from what you guys have told me and seeing how much a helmet and leather could have helped him I don't think twice helmet,jacket,gloves and at least jeans, that's what I wear on my ride to work and short trips. Long trips I throw on the pants and I'm looing at boots to go with my 2ps suit. THANK YOU EVERYBODY FOR THE FEEDBACK...

    Not to take away the severity of what your bud is going through, or to dis him in any way. But it's good to know that we here at NESR had a positive effect on your choice to go with the gear. It's a tough lesson to witness, but it also helped you realize what role it can play in your safety...

    MORE BAD NEWS

    Some kids were hanging out their and I'm gonna go dowm Fri or Sat to see if they are aroung and can tell me what happened because he doesn't remember and me and him both kinda want to know what did happen. Their was a 10'-12' skid mark in the road (probably gone after this rain) just after the tracks heading to the monument from Franklin way. He might have got air off the tracks and come down wrong or paniced when he looked up and saw the truck in front of him (which slowed but wasn't stopped)and slammed on the brakes doing an endo and threw him off or maybe someone pulled out in front of him from that side street don't really know,but I hope someone one will be around to tell me what they saw, just to kinda close the book. THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT GUYS.
