    Banjo torque

This might qualify as maintenance, but... meh.

The stainless lines I just put on (Goodridge) did not include torque specs for the banjo bolts and simply said "tighten." Thankfully I did some quick intarnet investimagation and got a bunch of conflicting opinions (no way ). The common theme seems to be that (as I expected) the replacement banjo bolts are aluminum as opposed to the stock steel bolts and should not be torqued to the same level.

    I've seen everything from 6 ft-lbs to 22, plus the factory 25.

WTF? As of right now, they've been wrenched a little bit beyond finger tight. Thought I'd give bleeding a shot and see what happens, but I also wanted some local opinions so I had someone to blame when shit goes bad.

I always use the original factory bolts and torque them to factory spec. On the rare occasion I have used aluminum bolts I have torqued them to 14 lb/ft

12-16 ft/lbs. Wouldn't go any higher than that.

    Man the internet kills me.

I had the same question, I called goodridge (goodrich ) when I got my teflon brake kit. They answered the phone and told me right away. I wish I wrote it down for you, but it was a very low number, maybe 12ft-lbs max.

Give them a call. Don't take our answer, it's an important question.

You sure your rear lines have OEM bolts

It was the weekend and I was getting impatient, but I did try.

And I did consider using the stock bolts, but that would only work for the caliper since the new lines ran separate from the master cylinder on down, instead of splitting, so I needed the new bolt up top.

I was able to get them bled yesterday though, so everything should be good to go.
