no i havent checked out shorai's. I have had a shitton of batteries and honestly bikemaster and yuasa have been fine
if you're looking for weight savings its tough to beat a light weight battery for bang for the buck

Ok so I got a working battery but one of the square parts with the hole in the middle where the screws go to one of the poles(?) wasn't in the box so one of the screws isn't secure. Anyone can give me one? Sorry for the terrible English and not knowing what anything is called
It's a square nut. I usually make my own by grinding down a nut you can find at the hardware store.

I have a one or two extra...I steal them off the old batteries before I junk them :)
they will be in my tool box all set...and ill bring my battery tender also
