    Bazazz Tuning?

    Hey,

    Long time no see...
Anyone here know of a place in eastern Mass. that tunes
    a Bazazz FI unit?
Thinking of getting one for my 600RR to smooth the throttle response.
Also anyone here have one? Are they better than a Dynojet?

DynoTune in Hudson,MA. I have a friend who has a Bazzaz on his GSXR1000 and loves the increased power.

I run a Fi/TC unit on my 600 and love it. I had mine tuned by dyno-solutions but its in the far side of CT from you.

Bazzaz would be over kill for the street and you could get away with a PC......

    PCIII.

The Bazzaz is overkill, quirky and hard to set up.

Many many people have tried that unit and given up and gone back to PCIII.

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

Yeah I have this really annoying spike in my power band around 3500 RPM and its right around where you want to
roll on in a low speed sharp turn... I have adapted and learned to live with it, but boy if I could just get that ironed out
I would be so happy. The top end benefit would be cool too but really I want to just make it less twitchy down low.
OK I'll look for a PowerCommander I guess.

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

It is better hands down...but takes more to tune, has twice the wires to plug in and cost doubble. So for street use I would use a PC. Race use you can get away with a PC but you will probably get a better tune out of a Bazzaz sytem and more HP with a bit more to tweak..

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

I had mine tuned by Souhegan Valley Motorsports in Milford, NH. you won't need anything other than the basic ZFI unit but I have the full ZFI-TC and he didn't change any of quickshifter kill times and I didn't have a single issue shifting. no changes to the TC either.

I didn't think it was hard to set up. just a bit more of a pain to install since it has so many more connectors.

I don't know where people are getting their prices but from the manufacturers websites the Bazzaz ZFI is $30 cheaper than a Power Commander PCV and $20 cheaper than an outdated PC3

no they aren't. a Bazzaz plain ZFI unit that just does fuel injection, no quickshift, no TC is $350 compared to $380 for a PCV and $370 for a PC3. of course you should be able to find all of them cheaper than those prices on other websites. I paid $800 for the full ZFI-TC system which does everything from hardracing.com

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

if your on a budget...get a used PCIII.... If your around Hudson ma, we can tune it for you.... The Bazzaz was good before the PC5 came out.... for nitrous etc... but for a basic motor the PC3 is hard to beat... we just got a used on on ebay for $120...works like a champ on my techs gixer....

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

How about the PC-V with the auto-tune module? Is that as difficult to set up as a Bazzaz?

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

I don't get why people are saying that setting up a Bazzaz is hard. Its more wiring and connectors but the extra ones over the PC don't make it much harder since its just pull the connector off and plug the new ones in. if its gonna be dyno tuned the tuner does the work either way. if its not gonna be tuned you just run whatever map you want. the Bazzaz comes preloaded with one for the bike so just ride it if you like.

Sorry I didnt realize this was strictly street. PCIII is probably the easiest way to go and will meet your needs quite well. Track use: Bazzaz hands down.

    Re: Bazazz Tuning?

So... it just goes to show you that when you get a new used bike that you really need to go over the entire bike. Been doing that little by little.
Well I just replaced the air filter and it looks like that thing was the original! It was filled up pretty good. A new K&N and the bike feels like a new beast!
breathing so much better, Acceleration is so much smoother and free! I'm thinking that a Power Commander or Bazazz is now not necessary.
