I've been clocked at 45 on a downhill on my inlines, and that guy has less resistance, since he has more wheels, so I'd say he goes MUCH faster.

hard to. I know that when a skater uses a 5 wheel inline skate, it "appears" to roll better.

I'm probably wrong, as usual, but I know what using an additional wheel feels like.

Re: This obvoulsly wasn't an LRRS racer

not to get to technical but .... drag (friction) is a factor of a lot of things ... one of them being the amount of contact patch ... the more wheels you have the more drag created via the extra contact patch ... no?????

if you go from 3 to 4 wheels there is more surface to PUSH off with and thus more energy needed to go faster to overcome the extra contact patch of the 4th wheel. frictional GAIN

if I remember correctly there was a great push a bunch of years ago to improve the bearings to cancel this frictional gain created by the additional wheels. the last number qualification I had was a #7 which has likley been improved upon.

now if you take into consideration the two racks of wheels this guy has on his chest and thier lack of caster capabilities then you actually have a tremendous cross wheel force when this guy starts backing it in to a corner ...............

had you all going there didn't I?

Yours would have to be custom made so you don't drag the "girls" on the ground. That would be a tragedy.

Nice Video! The guy on rollers has some real balls. Just imagine hitting a bump and high speed with your chin almost scrapping the road....

Re: This obvoulsly wasn't an LRRS racer

    My wife translated this.
YOUTUBE "Human Bobsled" Japanese variety show (Aired August 2008)
Jean Yves Blondeau against a Japanese rider, George Takahashi (not a racer)
    His fastest record: 116km (72mph)
Said he can beat a Japanese bike going down hill
    2600m course somewhere in Japan

Now here's my attempt at embeding another video of him that is even sicker as he passes oncoming traffic and...... Well he goes faster and you get a different view.

There's a youtube button you click at the top of the message box if you're in advanced.

Otherwise, just put the movie URL inside [ youtube ] [ /youtube ] tags (without the spaces)
