Need a place to work on your bike??

If you want to work on your bike, and might not have a place to work on your bike or even the tools. There is help on the way.

For those of you who have made it to bike night at Donny's or even to the Bike Event in Williston you might have met some of these guys with their Restored Norton's.
They have been having wrench night at some of their homes, and now have decided to venture out.
These guys are a British bike group, but have acquired some commercial real estate in Essex.
They will be having a shop space and a tool crib available to all motorcycle enthusiasts.
Right now they are in the midst of fit up of the facility, but I will keep you posted.

That sounds great! Maybe some people would like to give little classes or seminars there!

    How big is the space?

I am not sure on the exact SQ FT. But it is quite large. It the other half of the old Sanel Auto Parts.
These guys are all about the community and I am sure they would love to have Seminars and clinics.

Very cool of them to do that!

I've always said if I win the lotto I'd buy up a huge place, fill it with tools, lifts, etc and let all the local car/moto groups use it.

They have bought out a British parts business that will have a store front and sell used bikes. Which will be great for that group of riders.

Re: Need a place to work on your bike??

Sounds like a good idea. Now are they going to have the tool available and how are they going to keep track of them? One of the most frustrating things for me at my main job is 15 people work out of the same box and tools are everywhere. At least in my own tool box I know where to find things.

I dont think Id be dragging my tool box back and forth. I cant fit it in my car I think its a good idea to get someone started. I wish something like this was around when I started. Tools are expensive and to have access to them at a cheap rate is awesome for someone that is just getting into wrenching on their bike. Also if they are renting out tools Id be a bit concerned about leaving my own stuff there. I wouldnt worry about the people running the place but others going into my box because either they dont care or they just figure its part of the fee they are paying.

Re: Need a place to work on your bike??

I have a very large sum of tools myself and I do not like lending them out.
But I don't mind if someone comes over and works on their stuff right there. I am always more than willing to help someone out.
I lent out my Mig once and it cost me a new board.
