    New bike

Picked up the Gixxer 750 yesterday afternoon. Is a 1986 and has 27,000 miles on it. Traded my RM125 for it. Seems to be in great condition other than some minor body damage in bottom fairing around the crankcase. Doesn't have the power that the 1100 does but it still a blast to ride

Took it out yesterday for a blast and it was wonderful. Planning on taking it out again as we speak

    Here are the pics..

    Nice...!

('s that your dad? he looks a tad less than thrilled. maybe its seeing his son head off on a motorcycle with ice obviously still possible on the roads! try and keep what's still shiny clean at least until the season really gets underway!)

Nah that isn't my dad, just my neighbor. If it was my dad I wouldn't have been able to go ride it hahaha. He just wasn't happy that his wife was taking pics of him lol.

3rd actually. Had a KLR650 for a 1st....that didn't cut it. Then picked up an 86 GSXR1100. Still have the 1100 but it is undergoing some work
This one is the one that is in riding shape. I originally was going to get it for a spare bike/my dad, but this is too nice not to use as a primary ride.

And do you guys know of any place to get the smaller fairing to make it a streetfighter? Looking for one for the 750 and for the 1100.

    Thanks!

That bike is exactly 20 years older than my GSX-R yet has only
1k more miles than mine......that bike needs to be ridden.

    Congrats on a great classic

    Re: New bike

After the ride today it seems like the bike is quite sluggish. Has a Yoshi exhaust on it and has 15-45 gearing, when 15-43 is stock. When you goose it in 1st the front wheel won't even come up. It was suggested to me to get the stage 1 jet kit. Good idea?

Nice bike. Spend your money on street riding gear first.

dunno why wheelies are your priority, but doesn't the 86 make like 90hp and weigh 450lbs?

Funny, I said the same thing about my pickup truck.

And yes, the bike is sluggish. Know why? It's a 1986 and prolly needs some long overdue carb maintenance.....balancing comes to mind.

Have all the riding gear...a-stars boots, a-stars 2 piece, hjc lid, and icon gloves.

They aren't, but I had ridden my friends 87 GSXR750 and it was significantly faster.

Yea you are probably right about the balancing. I am having the 750 and the 1100 balanced this spring

Haha yea I have been practicing leaning and stopping for a long time. I have been a range aide and mechanic for the MSF program for 2 years now and ride the course all the time. Am going to be in the course to become an instructor this April. It was especially slick with all the ice and sand yesterday!

look, i love street fighters as much as the next guy...but if you chop up such a minty old school sport bike, i will personaly hunt you down and club you like a baby seal.

if you happen to accidently wreck it first...than by all means street fighter the hell out of it.
