    my new bike

well not really just painted it over the winter. Still some things to be done like paint or powder coat the rims/rearsets/passenger pegs. I still have a few bolts here and there to put in but you get the gist of it. It's my '05 with some of the '08 emblems. Still contemplating the word suzuki down bottom like the stock ones. Any thoughts, besides the exhaust is ugly?

Thanks man! I'm not into the bling, I like stealthy better. The pics make it look kinda gray but it looks matte black in real life.

    Re: my new bike

You can definitely tell that it's matte black in the pix......it looks very similar to the 2008's color scheme.

I would like to do mine in all black after seeing yours: How difficult do you think it would be?

    Re: my new bike

Wouldn't be too hard at all.
A buddy of mine did the painting at his shop, he's been painting for like 12 yrs now maybe more. Pigman can attest to his quality. He's gonna have my buddy do some stuff for his bike.
If you're serious about doing it let me know and I'll mention it to him to see if he wants any more side work.

    Re: my new bike

there's too many factors in my price to even say.
    1. I've known him for years
    2. He gave me a steal because I told him people would see it and want him to do their work too.
    3. not sure what 3 is but... I've known him for years

He'd give you a good deal, less than most others and better quality than most others. He works in pretty state of the art booths. He works in a private place but they do work for all sorts of reputable dealerships like acura of boston. They also do classic car restorations so they know what they're doing t say the least.

Cool......I completely understand that there cannot be a blanket price. Just trying to get a ballpark.

    Where is he located?

    Re: my new bike

    Looks great...

It's almost a copy of the blk/blk scheme that Suzuki actually did in 05. It was a European color choice, and was a limited edition in Canada.

My only suggestion... Go get yourself the Clear Alternatives dark smoke signal lenses for the front and rear. Get rid of the clear ones. Especially now that the bike is all black.

that's the scheme I was going for. Right after I bought mine new in '05 I sw the blk/blk scheme and loved it. I saw no reason to paiint a brand new bike so I figured I'd deal for a while. Last season I got sick of the yellow/blk so I figured might as well do it over the winter.
As for the smoked signals, I'd love to do that. I wanted to do it anyways but now that it's all blk it's a necessity.

Hell yeah man we'll have to plan a ride this year like the one I missed last year. It's nice to now belong to a forum that's local.

To everyone else, Thanks for the compliments. I'm always open to suggestions to. Think I should do the gray SUZUKI emblem across the bottom? It does look plain down there but I'm not sure I want that emblem, maybe something else but I have no idea what. No colorful stickers for sure, something that keeps it stealthy.

you don't think it's too plain down there without anything? I'm still undecided.
