    The original rotaries did look like this... the whole engine spun around the crank inside the plane. Those were the ones that were a bitch to fly supposedly... no way that would work on a MC!

    With Further snooping I found a reference in Wikipedia that someone DID built an actual "piston rotary" motorcycle with the engine rotating inside the frame, and also a BMW boxer style "rotary" that rotated inside the frame.

    Didn't find any pics though.
