I'll keep it short:
Need to get my bike from Quincy to state inspection in Bridgewater this Friday. Willing to rent a truck from U-haul for approximately $70, but will still need to do something about a ramp. It has to be unloaded at the inspection sitel.
I'm willing to pay someone that has a trailer/truck and nothing better to do if they'd like to help me.
Otherwise, I'd greatly appreciate if someone at least has ramp(s) I can borrow.
Thanks!

I have ramps. But I'm sure someone here will come through with well more then what I can offer.
uhaul does have motorcycle trailers for rent 15.00 per day.
but, you will need a vehicle with a tow hitch.

Or you can rent a home depot truck. $20 for the first hour $10 per hour after that.

I have ramps also if you need them. You would have to load/unload with an incline though because they are either 6 or 7 foot versions.

come on by and borrow my ramps. I'd just need them back by like 3pm so I can load my bike in my truck before I go to work.

Appreciate all the responses so far! I looked into the HD trucks, but for reasons mentioned above I opted out.
I may or may not be able to use my friend's truck that has a hitch, but I don't want to rely on that. His truck is really high and has a tonneau cover on it, so putting the bike in it won't work (easily).
Brett thanks, I think you are my best option for getting ramps from since you live near by. I was going to PM you again but didn't want to bug you.
I'll wait to see if any others chime in.

You can get a Uhaul pickup and trailer for like $35 plus mileage. I've done that before.
i've got a pair of 88" curved aluminum ramps you can borrow, i believe these are the type.
can pickup/return them at my office in the south end (500 harrison ave), should be a quick drive from quincy.

I guess I'm confused- do they ticket you at the inspection station or something if you ride there? Seems like a pretty dumb catch-22.

thought about that, but that's even more money... i may talk to them about that, but would still need a ramp. having just the truck to worry about would also be easier.
appreciate the offer. Brett lives right near my work so I can hopefully just grab them on my way home.
if I don't come across something else, would it be possible for me to pick them up tomorrow? I could either grab them around lunch time, or around 5 if you're not working. Also, how long are they? I think they'll fit in my wagon, but just want to double check.
and yes, this is for salvage inspection

the latter. they just verify that whatever the bike was totaled for has been fixed, and you haven't used parts from a stolen bike. etc....
it's not a safety or DOT compliance inspection.

did a state car inspection once and man it took HOURS, make sure you go there early and bring some snacks. also bring every receipt you have for any part you changed on the bike. Good luck![]()

that is not what I want to hear...
I gathered up about every receipt I could. just hoping they don't nitpick beyond reason.
thanks again to everyone for the offers. I picked up ramps from Brett and reserved a Uhaul truck. I'll report back tomorrow

Dont go to the short Napolean looking trooper...he's a total jerk. The tall amazon looking female trooper inspected my last bike...done in 15 minutes.Your gonna need your reciepts and the insurance company's original repair quote. You also have to ride the bike in to the station so you have to take it off the truck...sucks when your by yourself.Good Luck...been there a few times.
