Aside from Buell selling crushed Blasts as coffee tables, but in hindsight maybe that was an April fools day joke by a magazine.

In 2001, a buddy and I rode our RSV's up to Loudon to watch what was to be the final AMA National Championship race at the track. On the return journey home, somewhere along the way, we happened to encountered a guy riding a Buell Blast. At some point we all got off the same exit for some fuel. As it happened, there was a D&D nearby and, all having the same thoughts (of coffee & donuts), we found ourselves sitting at adjacent tables. Of course we struck up a conversation with each other. He asked us about the RSV's and, we in turn asked about his Buell Blast. The part that has always stuck in my mind the most from that conversation was his statement that he didn't measure the efficiency of his Buell in "miles-per-gallon," but rather in "parts-per-mile" that would vibrate off his bike (that he'd then have to replace). Yet, he just couldn't bring himself to get rid of it (because of the aura of Eric Buell and what it represented to him). He then proceeded to start to list the stuff that had fallen off the Blast. My buddy and I looked at each other, saying we were late, and politely excused ourselves and wished him a safe journey home. To me, that kind of devotion to a brand (Harley) boarders on Jonestown kool-aid level.

I'm actually surprised at the number of current, still going Blast owners in /r/Buell... they're the majority in there.

Great bike but high price for the miles. I have loads of spares for them waiting for the day I get another.

How dare they try to make smoking seem cool!

Love it, love the colors, decent price for something (80s/90s crotch rockets) that are near extinct… but meh, I’d pass

No. Just ordered a bigger tank, IMS 3.5 g, arrives Thursday. DR350s and an occasional DR200 have been turning up on FB lately, sometimes at a reasonable price.

Pretty sure some MSF courses used Blasts, so I'm guessing some new riders bonded, or imprinted.

For years the only real beginner bikes were the blast and the ninja 250. I'm sure many started out on a blast.

I think the ones Harley ran, to be specific. I rode one once, briefly. Was not confidence inspiring.

My first ever street bike. Wasn't officially ever a Smokin' Joe's paint scheme but in 1996 Honda made the Yellow/White/Purple/Teal Green CBR900RR and I had one for a short time.

Looked just like this minus the D+D pipe

Jesus. Look at the prize in the last pics. I wonder what it's story is. The dual exhaust bike laying on its side is interesting too

'78 Triumph Bonneville for $1200 [EDIT in VT not CT] -- looks to be pretty much all original (maybe not the mufflers) and all there, just lose the crash bar and sissy bah ...and, oh yeah, get it running, or restore, sitting since 2015 -- price from 10 years ago IMO --

Corrected original post to Cornwall VT (not CT). I'd say that $1200 asking price for a mostly original '78 Bonneville with good paint and un-chopped fenders is about half of an expected low asking price. It might run ok without a full teardown ... or it might not ...

Not surprising. Clean it up and make shiny, make sure the motor is free, flip for $3K.

I’m so annoyed I sold my gsxr600k6 to naults for like $3,000, and they’ve never dropped below 6k used, even 11 yrs after selling

Someone still looking for a low-priced Ducati? Plastics damaged, but hey, $1500?

"1999 ST4 in great running and riding condition. Bike went down at low speed causing the damage shown in photos. I bought it in its current condition but have maintenance records going back to 2004. Has new tires, Arrow cans, Ducati Performance cams (have receipt and post-install dyno chart from BCM). This bike would make for a great repair or cafe project."
