Ehh.
I paid about that for a beat to shit Monster 900 City a few years ago. Had flatsides which were a bitch to start when below 90* but sounded cool. Ended up selling it for about $2500 a few weeks later even though it was missing all the City specific parts.

The 750's were dogs. It's not worth $1500 as it sits.
Re: The Best bikes on Craigslist
Meh. I had a first year Japanese import (the 577th M750 made actually) it wasn't that bad. Decent torque to get going.
I did not enjoy the riding position. It's not upright but it's not like a superbike. Especially coming from my daily rider SRAD or 900RR.

I asked them to take it down once I Paypal'ed him the cash, but when I got there to pick it up and the custom helmet didn't fit

Re: The Best bikes on Craigslist
Man, I sold a Magna that was 5x as nice as that thing, complete, and would likely run easily, for $200. Shoulda kept it and asked $5k.

Viable ignition boxes from that gen V4 are worth more than $200 by themselves.

There's an Aprilia RXV450 (the dirt bike version) on CL for sale. I've only ever seen the SXV550s
