I remember reading back in the day that ditching the EFI and converting them to carbs was the only way to make them work, but they were still plagued with electrical issues.
The guys at Iconic Motorbikes out west have had a few.. including one with a bunch of electrical issues. And every single wire in the main harness is yellow!

Sounds like he wasn't insured for his own crash and probably owes $4k on a personal loan. The lowside crash damage and loss of oil pressure= Total write off.
