For a cool $92,000 you could be one of 29 owners of the new Challenger RR...

I remember around 2000 a couple coworkers seeming really impressed by them but I wasn’t sure why, and since that didn’t have full fairings and bright colors I never thought twice.
Re: The Best bikes on Craigslist
Anyone remember when the bike shop on 28 in windham sold the Laverda Ghost Strike? Those must be all long gone huh?
Re: The Best bikes on Craigslist
Are you talking about laverdas in general? All haunted by piss poor Italian electronics. It wasn't the motors or anything that killed them all out, it was shit electronics. Generally any one you find now is a non runner with a terminal ecu or some other impossible to get relay or component.
Re: The Best bikes on Craigslist
I could respect the katana choice if it had a crazy color scheme.

Yeah I just read a review, engines based on 1970s 500cc and shit reliability? Still funky though. Pretty sure I still have an advertisement from that dealer somewhere

Got the Guzzi last Thursday from AJ Cycle, should have the plates this week -- 2023 V7 Special (850cc). Really great sound out of the Arrow exhaust. All good.

Pretty sure I'll be keeping the DR350 for a while but I'll add your name to the growing list of interested parties. [smilee]

It was a god awful 1992 red/pink/fuscia 600. I went from a 1983 Interceptor 750 to that heap of shit. I sold it pretty quickly and bought a red/white ‘88 GSXR 750. Never looked back, and that katrina is the only bike I ever regret buying.

Minus the second gear problem because it's a 2000 I would argue it's better than most newer bikes. The one sitting in my garage since new while I have bought and sold dozens of newer bikes confirms this.

If we are talking best of the gsxr line the 04-05 600\750 and 05\06 1000 are considered the best ever made. Personally, I find them to be a touch too narrow so I like the gen before them better.
Either ones could be considered better than many modern day bikes. More soul, more useable power, better build quality etc.

I wish I got more seat time in my 20s on different bikes. I put 5500 miles on a gsxr600k5, and 27000 miles on a gsxr600k6 and they both seemed fine cuz that’s all I know.
Now almost 40 with a 99 zx9r, I THINK the seat is wider and maybe more comfortable, but it’s hard to remember.
My ignorance was the generations got better and better til emissions added weight in 2008.
Re: The Best bikes on Craigslist
The 9r is much more plush than the k4 k5 k6 gsxr's. You would probably love the earlier gsxr bikes more. They are wide bitches.
I was lucky in my 20s having every single model motorcycle available to me pretty much anytime I wanted it due to a vast friend network so I got to try them all. That was life on cape cod in the early 2000s. Just loads of motorcycle groups and hang outs so you could sample everything.
