My latest Facebook score. Contacted the seller 3 minutes after he posted and a 40 minute ride and it's mine. Pretty mint. 2k miles.

Me. It's just a hull though. I'm looking for a 650 motor to toss in it or just buy another ski.

I know your plenty capable of finding an engine, if your having a tuff time let me know, I have a friend who races / works on the standups, always pulling / swapping engines & shit. If you have some general specs I can ask him what he has.

I am not capable of finding an engine lol. It's been a couple years looking. They are either all trashed beyond use or still in a far too nice jetski to rip out. I'm looking for a complete 650 kawi motor with ebox. Carbs and stator as well. That stator is 9ddly not included in nearly every motor I look at.

A buddy of mine has a local shop and has all kinds of machines in various levels of operation laying around. It's mostly sleds, AVT's & riding mowers, but he has a few dirty bikes & watercraft collecting moss. I'll ask him tonight if he's got something for ya...

A 550 would work as well and be easier. They are harder to find good ones than the 650's. I don't think a 750 will fit

We're gonna take a look around his yard this weekend and see what's kicking around.

Why was the R7 so short lived? Or did it even come to the states originally?

It was a homologation special, and the class rules changed eliminating the niche a 750cc rocket could fill. That killed demand for a very expensive bike.

I remember seeing those in dealerships. Very unique front end. I can't remember the last time I saw one on the road.

I had a Buell 1125R for a couple of years. Interesting bike. I couldn't get the ergos right on the "R" but the "CR" with handlebars instead of clip-ons would be easier to change. Also easier to service without a fairing. Dealing with the HD dealers was really the only really bad (terrible) part of the experience. The fuel-in-frame feature resulted in heated (hot) gasoline which would expand considerably out the tank breather. Could be ameliorated somewhat with insulation and adding the Cal.-required charcoal canister. The other problem was the low, narrow windscreen. Didn't screen the wind, but focused it sharply on the rider.

This CR might be a fun bike to own, depending on final price of course. And it's in Cal.

Good looking bike. You still have that luggage I inquired about?

And yeah, I dealt with Harley service WITH A HARLEY and it was the most absurd experience ever. Manchester Harley blows.

I remember when HD was basically giving these bikes away. IIRC I could've bought a brand new 1125 circa 2009 for around $5k. Still kicking myself for not doing it.
